Every once in awhile, something comes along that really sweeps you off your feet. I have sampled some of the finest desserts in my lifetime, but recently I discovered something new…and it is extraordinary. This treasure was delivered to me from Carousel Cakes.
You may have seen my Birthday Love from My Friends post where I raved about the special present that afew of my good blogger friends sent to me. A Red Velvet Cake from Carousel Cakes. This is no ordinary cake – oh no. This is THE cake of cakes! This cake is so moist, buttery and dense, but light. The frosting is to die for. Each and every taste bud in my mouth perked up with each bite I took. The cake has layers of cake with this yummy frosting in between each layer.
Did I mention how beautiful this cake was? As if the taste wasn’t enough to thrill me, the cake itself is gorgeous. It came packed nice and neatly, and the cake was perfect. It was incredibly fresh, and the frosting and decorations on top looked just the same as they did when they left the bakery. Gorgeous! It is no surprise that Carousel Cake’s Red Velvet Cake was in O Magazine, as one of Oprah’s favorites! Yep – this is the Oprah Red Velvet Cake.
For the month of February, a percentage of Red Velvet Cake sales will be donated to the American Heart Association too. I love a company that gives back. What are you waiting for?
Of course Carousel Cakes has some other delicious looking cakes. If the Red Velvet Cake is any indication of the taste and quality of all of their cakes, I don’t see how you can go wrong. They have a huge selection of other gourmet cakes, including mouthwatering cheesecakes (even a sweet potato cheesecake!), mousse cakes, and even pies for the holidays. Also available are cakes for just about every occasion you can think of. I’ll take one of each please.
I am so thrilled that the nice people at Carousel Cakes are letting me host a giveaway of the same Red Velvet Cake that I received for my birthday!
