RUBBERMAID REVEAL SPRAY MOP:

As you may know, we recently had laminate flooring installed throughout our house. Though they are beautiful, they really show dust. I hadn’t expected that – I thought they would be so much easier to keep clean than carpeting. In some ways they are – I don’t worry about germs quite as much, but I find that crumbs, and fur collect in the corners of the rooms and along the walls. I can vacuum and sweep them up, but little dust particles remain, and the shine is no longer there.

We did buy cleaning solution specifically for hardwood and laminated floors and it works great. The problem is, the solution is in a spray bottle, and I have to bend down, spray a section, then mop up. Ummm that is a little rough on the back.  I received the new Rubbermaid Reveal Spray Mop to review and I am excited to tell you all about it!

I was dreading the thought of assembly, but I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was.  There were no tools needed!  I simply snapped together the pole/handle and the base, attached the microfiber paid {it attaches with Velcro} and filled the bottle with the solution of my choice.  I put the bottle on the mop and that was it!  I literally had it together in about one minute.  For my cleaning solution I used the type that was recommended by the company that installed our floor.  We had purchased a large bottle to refill our spray bottle, and that is what I put in the bottle for my mop.  Of course you can also use your favorite solution, diluting with water if necessary.

To use the mop, I simply squeezed the lever near the handle, and the solution came out easily and evenly.  The pad on the mop really cleaned well – with minimal scrubbing.  I was able to cover the whole downstairs of my house in minutes, leaving it bright, shiny and super clean.

The pads are washable, which will save quite a bit of money and using my own solution {especially if you use vinegar or something similar} can be a huge savings.  I really like that I can even just rinse the pad after washing, and it is ready to go for the next use.  No assembling to do each time – just grab and mop.  I love it!

Here are a few cleaning ‘recipes’ you can try {make sure you read manufacturer cleaning instructions before trying these, so be sure they are safe for your floor}:

Cleaning Solution 1: 2 Tablespoons ammonia, ½ cup white vinegar, ½ teaspoon of baby shampoo, fill the rest with hot water
Cleaning Solution 2: 2Tablespoons white vinegar, 2-3 drops liquid soap, fill the rest with hot water
Cleaning Solution 3: 2 Tablespoons baking soda. 2-3 drops liquid soap, fill the rest with hot water
Cleaning Solution 4: 1 Tablespoon white vinegar, 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil, fill the rest with hot water

You can even add a few drops of lemon juice or your favorite scented oil to give your custom cleaner a really fresh scent!

The price is right for the Rubbermaid Reveal Spray Mop – only $29.99 and it includes the mop, refillable bottle and an extra microfiber pad.  According to Rubbermaid, the average user can save up to $50 a year vs. the leading spray mop.  You can purchase the mop at Home Depot and online.  They will also be available in Target and Wal-Mart stores this month!
