I may have mentioned it before, but changing the litter boxes isn’t one of my favorite chores. I highly doubt it is anyone’s favorite, but there are some things that can make it easier for everyone.

In my experience, some cat litters are more effective than others, and they make my job a little more pleasant. Okay, pleasant is the wrong word, but they definitely make the chose less daunting. Clumping/scoopable cat litter’s are sometimes very, very heavy, and sometimes it is really hard to scrape the bottom of the box, because the litter is kind of “glued” on. In the past, I have also tried so hard to scrape it that I accidentally flung litter across the room. Yeah, not pretty Luckily I haven’t had this problem with Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light multi-cat scoopable litter. When they say “light”, they mean it! I have also found that the odor is controlled much more than with some other scoopable litters I have tried (and that is really saying something in my household!). I have three indoor cats, and lets just say that I have to really keep on top of the litter boxes. The boxes filled with this cat litter really does seem to keep them fresh longer.

I have also noticed less cat litter all over the floor. The reason this is so obvious to me is that I was constantly using a broom and dust pan to clean up the sharp little pieces of cat litter that I frequently stepped on. I am sweeping less, and enjoying fresh litter boxes longer. That is a beautiful thing!
