$50 Grocery Outlet Gift Card Giveaway and San Jose stores announcement

grocery outlet

I haven’t been to my local Grocery Outlet store in quite some time, but I had the opportunity to visit again today, and wow – has it changed! Not that there was anything wrong with the store before, but they have much more to offer now, and I am so impressed!

My husband, daughter and I went into the store armed with a $50 Grocery Outlet gift card and we were anxious to see what we could find. That wasn’t hard to do, as everywhere I looked there was something either fun, much needed, a great price, or all of the above!

Food

I noticed how neatly all of the cans and products on the shelves were placed. From canned goods to boxed goods, nothing was out of place (well that is until I grabbed an item or two to put in my cart!). I was surprised to see the great selection of vitamins, dvd’s (only $4.98 each – and good titles!), as well as lasagna and other frozen foods. I have to admit that I am a stickler for expiration dates on food. I checked quite a few items and all of them had not yet reached their expiration dates, and in fact, most were several months to a year away. THIS makes me a happy girl.

Wine

We perused the wine section at Grocery Outlet and were thrilled with the selection and the prices. Most were between $3.99 and $5.99 – and there certainly was a wine for every taste.

Toiletries/personal items

We found a great selection of personal care items, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo (I bought a huge bottle of shampoo, and a huge bottle of conditioner for only $3.99 each), makeup and more. My daughter found some mascara she loved and had to have.

Did you know Grocery Outlet even has Skechers and Aspire Shaper Shoes? Yep they do!

Pets/home

In addition to groceries and personal items, there was an aisle that had all kinds of fun things. We found toys, lots of pet products, and other miscellaneous items. My daughter bought a jewelry tree, to display all of her lovely gems, and for our cats we purchased a kitty hammock. Hubs grabbed a pair of kitchen scissors (since he claims they disappear all the time), and he grabbed a DVD as well. I bought a Betty Crocker pasta salad kit, and some gum.

We headed to the checkout stand and the cashier was super friendly. Our total came out to $50.78 – we were thrilled at all we purchased for that amount!

New stores!

Two new stores recently opened! The South San Jose Grocery Outlet on Foxworthy Ave., and the East San Jose Grocery Outlet store on North Capitol Avenue are both open for business. Both locations combined will provide roughly 70 full and part-time positions to job-seekers in San Jose and offer fresh produce, organics, USDA fresh meat selections, beer/wine and more at a fraction of what they retail at other big box retailers.

To celebrate the opening of the two San Jose Grocery Outlet stores, I have a giveaway for you!
