Crab Cake Recipe

16

I couldn’t resist trying Paula Deen’s Crab Cakes. I have been wanting to try making crab cakes for so long, and I finally got around to doing it. These are incredibly good! I highly recommend doubling or tripling the recipe, as one batch doesn’t make very many.

Crab Cakes:
(adapted from Paula Deen’s recipe on Food Network)

Ingredients:
1 lb. crabmeat
3 finely chopped green onions
1/3 cup crushed crackers (Ritz)
1/4 cup mayo
1 egg
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. Worch. sauce
1 tsp. Old Bay Seasoning
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 lemon juice
1 tsp. salt
Dash Cayenne pepper
Chopped Red/Yellow/Orange peppers (optional)
Peanut Oil
1 cup flour

In a large bowl, mix all ingredients, except peanut oil and flour. Mixture will be wet, and you might need to add just a little more cracker crumbs, but make sure that the mixture stays moist.

Form a small patty in your hand, dust one side with flour, then carefully flip over and dust the other side, while forming some more. Drop into hot peanut oil and fry on each side until golden brown.

Serve with tarter sauce, a citrus sauce, or any other desired sauce.

  1. I want to make those! They look delicious. We were watching the food network the other day and saw crab cakes. It’s hard to find good ones so I need to try this recipe. 🙂

I love your new look too. It looks fantastic!!

    • Well thank you! It was the work of Greg (love him!). We watch Food Network all the time too, and I want to try so many things. We used fresh dungeoness crab for these (and I know you have them where you live 🙂 Good crab makes all the difference in the world!

  2. I love Paula, but that is not an authentic Maryland crab cake recipe. If you want the real thing, use the recipe on the Old Bay can. It’s as good as it gets!

  3. Thank you for posting this recipe! They look and sound fabulous! My boys want me to make “Crabby Patties” from that Sponge Bob cartoon. I don’t think my crab cake recipe would work well on a bun, I might try to slip yours in to see how they like them.
