Twist App
Have you ever had to stop on the way to a party or function and then felt guilty for being late? I have, and I get really embarrassed when I am late to something (especially if it is an important appointment!). Do you want to know where your kids are in real time? It is always a good thing to know their progress on their way home, whether they are walking home from school or hanging out with friends at the mall.
Twist is a new app that helps friends and family stay connected with a couple of touches on your phone.
I have been playing with the Twist app and I have to say that it it pretty neat! You can add favorite destinations (which is helpful when you go to a certain place often). You can add your friends to your contacts and even send them a message to let you know when you are heading somewhere that they will be too. You simply check in when you are leaving and Twist will do the rest. You can publish your travels to Facebook and/or Twitter if you desire too, right from the Twist app.
Tomorrow my daughter and I are heading to our vacation home, so this is what I entered on Twist. I also added our vacation home to my favorites list, since we go there frequently during the summer. Twist calculated how long it will take us to get there, and it also mapped it out. I can sign in to Twist when we are leaving and my husband can see our progress (he is staying home, and worries about us).
I also notified a friend who lives in the same city as our vacation home, that we will be arriving tomorrow. You can send messages to your friends and family on Twist as well!
Since my friend will be expecting us, I can also tell Twist if we decide to stop somewhere along the way that might make us a little bit later than our initial ETA. This prevents the worry for those who are waiting for you to arrive.
As a parent, I love the peace of mind that will come with using this when my teenage daughter is out and about. We constantly worry about her, and being able to use Twist to see her whereabouts will help us rest just a little bit easier.
One feature I really love is that you can add your event to iCal and Twist will let you know when it’s time to leave! This is great for those folks who always seem to be running late

sounds very useful… especially if it takes into account speed & traffic… on foot or bike… hmmm
My kids get upset with me because I am always calling and worried when they aren’t home right away. This is perfect for me
This app is really neat and I would know where my husband is. He’s the type to make more stops than planned and this way I would know if he’s almost home or not.
It would be great to have a countdown of when the little ones’ arrival when coming to visit.
i meet friends for lunch and we are often delayed doing errands, it would be nice to quickly let them know we’re still on the way and to get a table.
I like the fact that it lets people know if you’re arriving late.
I like this app because I’ll know how far away a place will take me so I can inform people accordingly.
This would be great for my son who is going to college in the fall. We’d know when he gets there
