Head Back-to-School with Kohl’s & Win our Shopping Spree Giveaway!

Back-to-school shopping – it is fun, isn’t it? For the kids that get to stock up on tons of new goodies, gear, and clothes, sure. For the parents that have to pay for all of it, not so much. Trying to find ways to spread your dollar while still managing to keep your kids happy with the styles they’ve got their eyes on is, often, easier said than done.  Thankfully, there is one place that I know of where you will certainly get a bang for your buck. Can you guess what it is?

Yes, Kohl’s! I’ve always been a fan of their store but, this year, they put my shopping skills to the test. It’s every girl’s dream, right? Shopping spree! Just to show how awesome they are, and to prove how great their prices are, Kohl’s sent me on my very own back-to-school shopping trip. Armed with a $100 gift card, the game was on.

I got the kids ready; we hopped in the car, and made the trip out to Kohl’s. I’m sure that you all know how much fun (not!) it is to shop with kids in tow. This outing, however, was actually quite pleasant. In case you didn’t know, Kohl’s has great little stroller-carts that are perfect for maneuvering around and through the different areas of the store. We certainly used this to our advantage and the kids took turns sitting and pushing. We spent a decent amount of time in the store and both kids got to pick out quite a few outfits for the back-to-school season. Whether your kids are looking to be the next Ivy Leaguer accepted into Harvard, has an east-coast-west-coast worldly persona, is ahead of the times in the fashion game, or keeps it simple with the basics, Kohl’s is the place to go for all of your back-to-school needs.

Kohl’s has a slew of great brands for everyone. My personal favorites are the LC Lauren Conrad and Jennifer Lopez collections. I secretly (or not so secret anymore) love the Candie’s line even though it’s a junior’s brand. For the boys, well, they’re all about the Tony Hawk line. It is great that this particular brand really does cover it all. The kids have a closet full of, both, casual and dress clothes all with the Tony Hawk label. My guy is a big fan of the Hang Ten and Dickies lines for men. In addition to all of these great brands, there is still the rest of the store to shop as well! Kohl’s, truly, does have it all. The Home department, for example, is perfect for those of you shopping for college dorm room needs.

There were so many great, in-store sales going on that I had a hard time keeping track of everything. I was trying my best to tally the total cost in my mind but every time I went to recheck the tags on the items that we already had in the cart, I remembered that each had a rack sign announcing sales. After going around the whole store (probably two or three times) – yes, really! – picking up outfits for the whole family, I noticed that it was nearing lunch time so we headed to the register. I watched as the cashier rang up item after item and the register screen listed amount saved followed by amount saved. With my original “total” nearing close to $200, I was convinced that I’d have to cover the overage. Surprisingly, after all of the sale prices rang up and I tossed in my 20% off coupon code (available to everyone from time to time), my final total was only $80! Just look at everything that I got!

And I got Kohl’s Cash that’s good toward a future purchase! Add that to already saving a ton of money, and you’re golden!

Since I still had a balance left on my card, when we got home I actually picked up a few extra items from the Kohl’s website! And, again, got more Kohl’s Cash! Now, in total, I have $20 to go shopping again next week! Speaking of more shopping (and winning), how would you like to go on your very own Kohl’s shopping spree?
