I make some really tasty cookies, called Chocolate Kiss Cookies, but I thought I would try something different, using the same ingredients. I came up with a huge chocolate candy bar (several actually) wrapped in the same dough that I use for the Kiss Cookies – Cookie Wrapped Chocolate Bars!
Ingredients:
1 cup (2 cubes) butter, softened
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups of flower
mini chocolate chips (optional)
Combine butter, sugars and vanilla and blend well. Add flour and mix thoroughly. If desired, you can also add mini-chocolate chips to the dough, although this may make forming the dough around the candy bars a little difficult.
Depending on how many candy bars you are using, you may want to double the recipe for the cookie dough. I used four 4.4 oz. candy bars, and I barely had enough dough. Set your candy bars down on a cookie sheet (make sure you use a cookie sheet with an edge). Leave a tiny bit of space in between them, about 1/4 or so.
Press dough on entire top of candy bars, going down the edges a bit:
Flip entire cookie over and continue putting dough on the top, making sure to also encase the edges and corners:
Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 7-10 minutes, or until very lightly browned:
Remove from oven and let cool. Cut into squares, grab a glass of milk and enjoy! What are you waiting for? You know you want to try these Cookie Bars 🙂
