I love my husband, I really do. As much of a “giving” guy he is, he isn’t big on sharing his tools. Perhaps this is a guy thing, but I am not allowed to play with his “nice” tools. He has set some old, beat-up tools aside for me to use when necessary, but I want nice tools too!
Not only did I receive my very own set of “nice” tools, but they are Pink, and that means he will not be touching them. No how, no way. Sweet! Tomboy Tools is a really neat company that has all kinds of tools specially designed for women.
I received the Tomboy Traveler from Tomboy Tools and my jaw dropped on the floor when it arrived. As I pulled each tool out of the pink multi-pocket canvas bag, I said, “Oh cool!!”. One of my favorite tools is the Magnetic Head Hammer – this is such a clever idea. It really helps when starting a nail in a wall or other surface.
Another tool I am smitten with is the Multi-Bit Ratcheting Screwdriver. There is no need to have a variety of screwdrivers when this is in your tool bag, as all of the bits are stored in the handle! Whether you need a #1, #2 or #3 Philips bit, or many others, Tomboy Tools Screwdriver has you covered. It has an oval handle which allows for a better grip, and helps you avoid that silly feeling when your hand is turning but the screwdriver is not 🙂
Also included in my kit are a tape measure, Quick Changing utility knife, Torpedo Level, safety glasses, Rubber grip gloves, sanding block, , needle nose pliers and a carpenter’s pencil. Seriously – I have everything I need whether I am trying to repair something, hang something or whatever else I might get myself into.
I love a company that gives back, and Tomboy Tools does just that. They donate 5% of profits from the sales of their pink handtools and $1.00 from other selected products!
Tomboy Tools, Inc. provides donations to organizations that help women and the welfare of animals. From shelters to breast cancer research, to skills development and support services, Tomboy Tools is committed to being part of the solution.
That’s why we’ve chosen to support organizations in their efforts to bring forth awareness and education; prevention and research; and access to treatment, shelter, and support services.
Tomboy Tools was created to “build confidence and empower women through hands-on education, quality tools and an independent business opportunity.” If you are looking for a way to make a little money, you might consider hosting a Tomboy Tools party. I love this idea – it is so different from the other parties that are out there, and by attending you will learn several things too!
There are SO many other things available at Tomboy Tools too, including gardening sets, painting supplies, and even power tools (oh my husband will be excited to hear this – not!). But then again, once I learn the safe way to use power tools, maybe he won’t be so apprehensive.
Whether your DIY projects include plumbing, tiling, drywall, auto, painting (the list goes on and on), Tomboy Tools is your place. Everything is Pink too!

Hi Jennifer,
I’m a Consultant with Tomboy Tools and it’s really cool to see such an enthusiastic review of our products. Glad you enjoyed them! By the way, pretty cool blog!

Thank you for the compliment! I absolutely ADORE these tools! My husband was impressed with the quality too, and that is saying a lot!

I’ve seen a few different posts from bloggers about this tool set and all I can say is….I WANT ONE! 🙂
I don’t do much that requires using tools, but it would be nice to have my own set just in case. Especially to put aside for when I have my own place one day!

I love this! There are NO options out there (that I have seen …or liked anyways!) for women.. and I would LOVE to have a pink set of tools! I’m sick of having to use my husbands dull, boring, and manly looking tools. It’s really great to see a company that is not only designing tools FOR women, but also committed to giving back to important causes that need our help.
Great review – Thanks! I am definitely going to look into Tomboy Tools! 🙂

I like the handles which look ergonomic and that the tool set is pink, so it’s harder to walk away or get borrowed indefinitely.
