When I was a kid, we were outside – always. Using sticks as pirate swords in our swashbuckling adventures, playing wiffleball with a group of neighborhood kids, finding friends in a game of hide-and-seek, swinging, sliding, running; it was a good time. Today is different.
Disturbingly, a new study has found that almost half of preschool age children don’t play outside each day. Furthermore, the children in the study were found to be sedentary 80% of the time that they are at preschool.
Outdoor play is quite important for a child’s development and well-being. The exercise they get is an obvious point but there are many more advantages to getting outdoors for, both, your child and you. Whether it is the availability to have multi-sensory play, soaking up the sun and Vitamin D, the stimulation of creativity and learning to use one’s imagination, reducing anxiety and increasing your attention span, learning to respect nature and other living things, or simply having fun, outdoor play is wonderfully important. Think about it, would you rather be cooped up in the house or outside enjoying the sun and a nice breeze? I bet you all chose the latter, correct?
Now, as a new parent, many feel lost when it comes time for playdates. Newborns, babies, toddlers, and even preschool aged children cannot make friends unless you give them the opportunity to do so. We parents need to introduce our little ones to the world (and people) around them. However, when you’re like us and had children prior to your group of friends doing so, well, you don’t know where to begin. Where are the best playgrounds? Who can your child play with? Are there other parents for you to make friends with? Kidzloop is here to help answer those questions.
Kidzloop is the newest app for parents that helps you to connect with other local families, find the best playgrounds, keep on top of the latest parenting news and much, much more.
Let’s face it parents, especially the new ones. Your best friends who don’t have kids are not into diaper rashes and potty training all afternoon. Having friends who have “been there” in this crazy world of parenting is a lifesaver. These friends not only form your support circle, they also add a dash of “social fun” in your otherwise busy lives.
We are all about families having fun together in their neighborhood. Our “Playground check-in into” feature enables planned serendipity so that more families can meet each other for fun outdoor playdates. Connecting with a new mom or a dad just down the road has never been easier! When kids have friends to play with, they not only develop the much needed crucial social skills; they also tend to be healthier and happier.
The “playground check in” feature within Kidzloop app is similar to a FourSquare check-in. Users can use the app to alert other parents of which playground they are at. This is a perfect option to use when meeting up for playdates. In addition to the fun one can have with this alone, Kidzloop app includes a messaging feature that you can use after adding friends to the app. You can see when these friends are in your area and can message them instantly directly from the app itself. The best feature however, is that users have the ability to find new local playgrounds – a huge plus for the newbie parents out there!
Kidzloop is certainly going to be on the rise within the parenting community and rightfully so. Finally! The folks over at Kidzloop have come up with THE parenting app to have. From chatting with local moms and dads to keeping up with the latest parenting news and having a blast with your little ones at the nearest playground, Kidzloop has it all.
Kidzloop is available for free download on iOS devices via the iTunes store, here. You definitely do NOT want to miss out on this! Kidzloop is the must have app to keep parents in the loop.
