The city by the bay, my San Francisco. I grew up across the bay from San Francisco, enjoying the beautiful city lights nightly from our living room window.
There is just a certain special feeling about San Francisco, and I know firsthand, as I spent plenty of time in the city as a child. My parents met in a guest house there, and they knew all of the fun things to do. Mom and I would have girls day out a couple of times per year, where we would indulge in a top-notch San Francisco restaurant, shop at City Center, and and then follow up with a musical. We saw Cats, Hello Dolly, Stomp, and many, many others. Oh those were good times!
When Mom and Dad asked my brother or I where we wanted to go for our birthday dinners, the answer was ALWAYS San Francisco! Some of the best Italian meals we enjoyed were in North Beach. We would get all dressed up and head to the city. I remember as a child, how breathtaking the big buildings were, and I dreamed of someday living in San Francisco. Unfortunately that never happened, but the memories I have will last forever.
