With the holiday feast I’m making this year, comes wine. Look, I’m all about a beautiful dinner, but when it comes to dessert, let’s just get it over with, okay? With a little help from Sara Lee, the iconic holiday dessert brand and Pacific Rim Riesling wines from Washington State, I’ll have a holiday dessert that will be memorable, delicious and easy on my part!
Salted Caramel “Turtle” Pumpkin Pie
*recipe courtesy of Pacific Rim and Sara Lee*
Ingredients:
1 Sara Lee Pumpkin Pie, baked and chilled
1 container caramel ice cream topping
½ cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 container of hot fudge ice cream topping
Instructions:
Bake Sara Lee Pumpkin Pie as instructed. Sprinkle pecans on pie. Stir salt into caramel sauce and drizzle over pie. Warm hot fudge and drizzle over pie. Chill pie until chocolate sets. Cut and serve. Enjoy!
Pair the Pacific Rim Dry Riesling with a delectable Cranberry Pound Cake Trifle.
Cranberry Pound Trifle

Ingredients:
1 Sara Lee All Butter Pound Cake, diced into ½ inch cubes
1 pkg. instant vanilla pudding, prepared to box instructions
1 can cranberry sauce, removed from can and stirred until smooth
For the whipped cream:
1 ½ cups heavy cream
1 ½ tablespoons powdered sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients for whipped cream and whip until it holds a peak. In a glass bowl, layer cake, pudding, cranberries and whipped cream. Repeat until all ingredients are gone. Note: Try to save enough whipped cream to cover the top of the trifle.
With the Sweet Riesling, how about Cheesecake Truffles? I’m saving this recipe for book club. It sounds super easy and I think everyone will love them!
