Girl Scout Friendship Dolls
Story time… I was a Girl Scout most of my life, all the way through high school. There are so many great opportunities in Girl Scouts between volunteer work, learning so many essential life lessons, and just plain good fun! We would go Christmas caroling at a retirement home during the holiday season and went on group vacations during the summer. We had camp where we learned many survival skills, like how to make a fire and how to use a knife…which lead me to being the example for how to do first aid (True story, I accidentally cut my finger at the knife lesson! Haha!).
Girl Scouts was such an AMAZING experience for me that we made sure that the first activity our daughters ever heard about was Girl Scouts and though we give them a set budget for the activities they choose each year, we’ve agreed that we will always make room in the budget for being a Girl Scout member. My husband has become the Girl Scouts treasurer for my oldest daughter’s Girl Scout troop and they’ve actually allowed my 4.5 year old to tag along since she is excited to join this upcoming year.
As a very, very pro-Girl Scouts family, I just jumped at the chance to review the Girl Scouts Friendship Dolls. These soft and snuggly stuffed dolls aim to be an empowering doll that your Girl Scout can relate to, no matter what her age! I LOVE that the dolls come wearing their sashes that each girl can personalize with the included stickers of awards, insignia, troop numerals, pins, and badges!
Each Girl Scouts Friendship Doll has her own favorite cookie and Girl Scouts activities. Carina loves the peanut butter and chocolate cookies (me too!). She loves being a Girl Scout because “it teaches me to be honest and fair so I can make the world a better place!” and she’s very active. Carina likes to help her troop and community and that’s something my oldest daughter definitely relates to! She’s so giving and loves to help out any chance she gets!
Chloe loves what seems to be the most popular Girl Scout cookie, the Thin Mints® and listening to music, making up her own songs. She loves being a Girl Scout because she is “learning to be considerate and caring, so I can make the world a better place!” Chloe loves talking, listening, and working with different kinds of people. Everything about Chloe relates to my second daughter, except she likes basically any Girl Scout cookie out there!
Carly loves the caramel cookies with coconut and chocolate stripes, and that’s another favorite of my own. She loves to write poetry and stories that she shares with friends, as well as setting goals and organizing cookie orders. Carly loves being a Girl Scout because she loves “learning to be courageous and strong, so I can make the world a better place!” Carly is basically me in a nutshell. See, a Girl Scouts Friendship Doll for everybody?! I can’t wait to see the additional ones that come out next Fall!
As much as my girls are obsessed with the Girl Scouts Friendship Dolls already, my husband and I have decided to give them as rewards to our troop for the girls who sell the most cookies! My oldest immediately shouted, “Then I guess I will have to sell the most cookies!! When do we start?!” I think that this will make an amazing incentive and troop leaders should consider such a cool idea for their troops too! There’s still time to get one for the holidays for your daughters, granddaughters, nieces, baby sisters, or any special little lady in your life!
You can purchase Girl Scouts Friendship Dolls for $19.99 each at WalMart stores nationwide and online at Girlscoutshop.com, Walmart.com, and YOTTOY.com.
