Some of my favorite memories from when I was younger are of playing board and card games with family and friends – spending time with my loved ones, the (friendly) competitiveness, and the thrill of winning (or pain of defeat). Even now, as an adult, I love to get out some cards or dominoes when visiting family, or play a board game with my nieces and nephew. And my oldest daughter is finally reaching that age where she can play board games and really understand the rules and how to play.
Winning Moves Games offers tons of classic games for the whole family, including such games as Candy Land, Clue, Life, Sorry, Twister, Parcheesi, Monopoly, Scrabble, Yahtzee, and even Rubik’s Cubes. With the wide variety of games offered, you are sure to find something fun for people of all ages, including younger children, older children, and adults. In looking through the selection of available games, I saw several that were childhood favorites which brought back all of those fun memories.
My family had the chance to try out three games from Winning Moves Games. We received Hi-Ho! Cherry-O, Guess Who?, and Fish Fish Squish!. Three great games that have already provided hours of entertainment for my family, and I am sure will provide plenty more!
Hi-Ho! Cherry-O is a game I remember from my childhood well, and it is probably one of the first games that I ever played. It is perfect for my oldest daughter because it helps her with her counting – all she has to do is spin the dial and pull that number of cherries off of her tree. She wants to play this game all the time. She even keeps saying that she is going to play it at her upcoming birthday party with her friends – hey, if it keeps them entertained, then I am all for it!
Guess Who?, the classic mystery face game, was my favorite game as a child. My sister and I played this game for hours on end, going through the entire deck of cards then shuffling them up and starting again. I loved how everything in this game was pretty much the same as it was twenty-five years ago when I had it – including the characters and their pictures (same hair colors, mustaches, big or little noses or lips, hats, earrings, everything!). My oldest daughter is a little too young to fully grasp the concept of this game, but I hope she will love it as much as I did once she gets a little older. How great is it that something I enjoyed so much as a child is still around for my children to enjoy as well???
Fish Fish Squish! is a new game from Winning Moves Games. It comes with modeling dough in four different colors and fish molds for you to create your own fish. You then take turns flipping over cards. Whenever you get three of the different cards in a row (one of the big purple fish, one of the medium yellow fish, and one of the small red fish), you get to squish an opponent’s fish! You better be nice though because you don’t want your own fish to get squished. Everyone in my family had fun with this game, and, of course, the funnest part was squishing each other’s fishes.
If you are looking for some fun games that your whole family can enjoy, want to bring back memories from your own childhood, or want to introduce classic games to the next generation, check out what Winning Moves Games has to offer. The games run anywhere from $6.95 to $40.95, although most are less than $20.00.
