So, today is the day.

How many of you are excited to finally be able to experience the wonder, to discover the unforgettable? Can you feel those impact tremors? Is your heart racing? What’s that tapping noise? Can you stay perfectly still to avoid being seen? Would you survive the amazement, the spectacle, the thrill, the fear, and the extraordinary legacy that is Jurassic World?

For us, this day has been a long time coming. I vividly remember watching the original Jurassic Park film and, over the years, have quite literally grown up alongside the series. Each time the story grew and a new film was released, I found myself watching in bewilderment as John Hammond’s dream played out and plans went awry time and time again. Each time a movie would end, I remember instantly wanting a new film to follow in those massive dinosaur tracks that came before it. The rush of excitement coupled with the innate fear of the “what if” made it impossible to not crave, to not hunger for more.

T-rex doesn’t want to be fed. He wants to hunt.

Much like the king of the dinosaurs, we wanted more. We sought more. My son even politely asked the “Mr. Dinosaur Man” for more. Through the years, each time a new film was released thus continuing the much-loved story of Jurassic Park, folks around the world flocked to movie theaters with the same joy and enthusiasm of a kid in a candy store. For the past fourteen years, however, that thrill had escaped us. For each of the previous three movies in the Jurassic Park series, a span of four years between one and the next left us wondering, hoping, and dying for more. And each time that day finally came, again, we wanted more. It has now been fourteen years since the last of the movies was released and I’m sure that I joined many in thinking that the story had ended as a trilogy. However, in that time span, I welcomed some amazing little ones into this world and they, too, have grown to love the story that Steven Spielberg and Michael Crichton brought to life. Their own admiration for the movies has sparked that fire within me once more and, together, we now enjoy letting our imaginations roam free like the very dinosaurs that once inhabited the Earth.

Up until now, we were relatively content with what the world of Jurassic Park had offered us. Between the trio of movies, the now “vintage” (am I really that old already?!) merchandise, the real-life theme park location, and so much more, Jurassic Park was as much a part of our life as it was for Dr. Grant, Lex, Timmy, and the whole gang… minus the whole being hunted thing of course.

Jurassic World

Well, today, we’re back in that Jeep… err, on that motorcycle?

The water is shaking, the tapping sound is getting closer, the leaves are rustling, the thuds are getting louder, and the roars are back.

Stop with me for a moment. Envision the ending scene of the very first Jurassic Park movie. As they’re flying away to safety on that helicopter ride off of the island, they saw something flying alongside them. Now, whether or not it was intended as such, that scene always stuck with me as the symbolism which hinted at the idea of more. The “more” that we’ve craved was so much bigger than just Jurassic Park.

Life breaks free; it expands to new territories and crashes through barriers, painfully, maybe even dangerously. I’m simply saying that life… finds a way.

What once started out as a park has now become Jurassic World.

Officially in theaters today, the much-anticipated continuation of the Jurassic Park story is finally here! Take a look:

Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re-spark visitor’s interest, which backfires horribly.

Now, I don’t know about you but my family has been in dino mode since initially finding out about this film’s impending release. These past few weeks have kicked that dinosaur joy into overdrive and, now that the day has finally come, the sheer excitement is overwhelming. We cannot wait to be able to see the movie in theaters this weekend and I certainly hope that you’ll join us for all of the fun that is to be had.

Speaking of new product releases, one of the kids’ favorite parts of any new movie is the great merchandise that coincides (hence the reason for that toddler penned letter). Jurassic World, of course, follows suit and brings fans everywhere an incredible array of fabulous new goodies. I’ve shared a few of those here with you over the past week but one of my favorites is definitely the Jurassic World collaboration with LEGO. To accompany the movie’s release (in theaters today!) is the all new LEGO Jurassic World videogame!

LEGO Jurassic World

Following the epic storylines of Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and Jurassic Park III, as well as the highly anticipated Jurassic World, LEGO Jurassic World is the first videogame where players will be able to relive and experience all four Jurassic films. Reimagined in LEGO form and told in TT Games’ signature classic LEGO humor, the thrilling adventure recreates unforgettable scenes and action sequences from the films, allowing fans to play through key moments and giving them the opportunity to fully explore the expansive grounds of Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna.

One of the best things about the entirety of the Jurassic Park series is that it truly makes the fans wonder; it makes us think of all of those “what if” scenarios. With the new LEGO Jurassic World videogame, you can finally play out all of those situations. And, now, you can really do just that because you’ll have a shot at winning the game right now!

  1. Julie Bickham on

would be a scene from the first movie, when they are in the lab building and the dinosaurs are loose In there.

  2. Leigh Anne Borders on

I liked the first movie where the dinosaurs are loose in what I think was like a kitchen., that scene was intense to me.

  3. Leigh Anne Borders on

I liked the first movie where the dinosaurs are loose in what I think was like a kitchen., that scene was intense to me.

  4. I always remember the fear I feel watching them try to get out of the kitchen area with the velociraptor seemingly surrounding them. That would be intense to play out in a video game.

  5. shelly peterson on

I haven’t watched any of the Jurassic movies in a while but I would say the kitchen scene would be fun

  6. The scene in the first movie when they are trying to get away from the dinosaur in the kitchen by fooling him with his reflection

  7. My favorite scene to re-enact would be the scene in the first movie where the tour cars stop and the T-Rex first appears.

  8. The first movie in the kitchen scene with the raptors when the raptor is going after the girl but runs into the cabinet when it saw her in the reflection.

  9. I would just like to see all of the scenes with Wayne Knights character. I think he would be a great lego.

  10. I think the most fun is the end of Jurassic World where its a battle of people vs. in-rex vs t-rex vs. raptors! Its such an intense scene and a great fight!

  11. kim keithline on

My favorite scene was in the first movie when the lawyer ran to the bathroom to escape the t rex and left the kids and he got eaten on the toilet

  12. beth shepherd on

My favorite scene is when they are in the jeep in the first movie and they see the water move in the cup from the trex. Great suspense!

  13. Shemp DeYoung (@ShempGames) on

The Jeeps are stopped. The lawyer gets eaten by the T Rex. The car falls down the tree.

  14. I don’t want to spoil the movie, but there is a part at the end of Jurassic World that involves the two biggest dinosaurs. That would be awesome to see played out in the new Lego game.

  15. Nataile Brown on

I’d most want to act out (in the video game) the scene in the kitchen with the raptors “smelling” out the children. Eek!

  16. Like many of the other commenters, the scene with the motorcycle going along with the raptors would be my choice to re-enact in the game.

Second choice – being inside the gyrosphere while the Indominus rex is kicking it like a soccer ball.

  17. The scene in the original Jurassic Park where the T-Rex is chasing the jeep would be fun to re-enact in the video game. So would the scene from the original where the children are hiding in the kitchen from the Velocirapters. That scene had me absolutely cringing when I saw the film at the cinema. Thank you for the great giveaway. Happy Spring!

  18. I’m honestly not sure since we haven’t seen the movie yet, but I know my son would love this game since he loves anything that has to do with Legos or dinosaurs. 🙂

  19. I like in the first movie where the man and 2 kids fall asleep in a tree to be awakened by the dinosaur eating the leaves and the view of all the other dinosaurs.

  20. tonya dreese on

The scene in the very first Jurassic park where the dude has the porta potty taken off while he’s left sitting on the pot then gets eaten. lol

  21. I always remember the scene where the water is rippling in the cup from the vibration of the dinosaur approaching. That would be the most iconic scene to me it was so intense. I still think of Jurassic Park when I see water rippling in a cup, lol. It would have to be included in the game somehow.

  22. In the first movie where they were in a building hiding from the dinosaur. I haven’t seen it in a long time. i think it was in the kitchen?

  23. Two words: Jeep, TRex. Or is that three? I loved the first movie, the fear I felt when the water was vibrating in the cup in the Jeep…I’ve never felt that before or since.

  24. Melanie Comello on

The newest one, when the guy says, Raptors have a new Alpha, and realization sets in that there’s a new chase starting!
