My girls are at that age where they are too old to use baby products, but too young to use adult products. It is especially difficult finding a good and effective shampoo and body wash for them – baby products are too gentle, adult products are too harsh, and there is not much offered for children their age. I usually end up standing in front of the selection of products available at the store, staring at them for five minutes before finally grabbing the nearest one and hoping it works well. Most of the time, I am disappointed with the quality of product (such as having no real lather, which to me means it is not really cleaning) or the smell (there was one that I remember that got tossed out soon after I bought it because it smelled horrible, despite claims of its “fresh, clean scent”).
That all changed when I had the chance to try the Dubble Trubble line of products from famed colorist, Daniel Galvin, Jr. and Galvin & Galvin – a collection of sweet-smelling 2-in-1 Shampoo and Body Washes and Detangling Conditioner Sprays. I received the Dubble Trubble 2-in-1 Shampoo and Body Washes in Cherry Bomb, Bananaberry, Watermelon, and Cool Cucumber scents and the Dubble Trubble Detangling Conditioner Sprays in Watermelon and Cool Cucumber scents.
Bathtime was fun again for my girls with the Dubble Trubble 2-in-1 Shampoo and Body Washes. They lathered up well, and it is convenient to use one product for both their hair and their bodies – that certainly made the baths run quicker and smoother for my husband and me. The real test, though, came with combing out their wet hair after the baths. My oldest has thick hair that gets so tangled up when we towel-dry it, and we usually have to use both a separate shampoo and conditioner, plus a leave-in detangler, in order to make the combing easier for her (that is three products just on her hair!). However, combing was a breeze after using the Dubble Trubble 2-in-1 Shampoo and Body Washes – the comb went right through and her hair easily became nice and smooth, no pulling or tears from her at all!
The Dubble Trubble Detangling Conditioner Sprays also were handy for combing the girls’ hair in the mornings. My youngest always has wild and crazy bed head, but with a few spritzes of the Detangling Conditioner Spray, her hair was quickly combed and looked great.
I also love all of the scents of the Dubble Trubble products. Fresh, fruity scents are always great for children, and these scents last too. I love snuggling with my firls and kissing the top of their heads, and after we began using the Dubble Trubble products, I noticed that I could still smell the scent of the shampoo or the spray even after a full day.
All of the Dubble Trubble products are made with natural and organic ingredients, and are hypoallergenic so they are perfect for children. In my experience, organic products are pretty pricey, but the Dubble Trubble products sell for $4.99 each and are available at Target – both in stores and online. And just in case you needed more of a reason to check out these products, here it is: Dubble Trubble and Daniel Galvin, Jr. are working with The Prince of Wales Foundation, and a portion of the sales proceeds go to help environmental causes here in the United States! So not only would you be buying a great product for you child, you would be helping a worthy cause as well.
