THE MAGIC SCHOOL BUS
First up – The Young Scientists Club, The Magic School Bus Human Body Lab. My daughter would have LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this one. She is a science fanatic and has always been fascinated with the human body. She would probably still love this actually. Hmmm….
The Human Body Lab kit was awarded the 2016 KIDS PRODUCT OF THE YEAR AWARD by Creative Child Magazine,Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Seal Award 2016!
Ms. Frizzle and her students take Young Scientists on a wild ride with The Magic School Bus as they explore the fascinating world of the human body. Young Scientists learn about the anatomy and physiology of the different organ systems through lots of fun and creative experiments and activities such as recreating the human body with cling-on window stickers, building a 17-inch plastic human skeleton, matching fun facts on a poster, making a lung model, measuring a pulse, dilating pupils, exploring touch receptors, finger printing, learning about teeth enamel, making a ball and socket joint, and much, much more! This entertaining bus-shaped kit comes with components for the experiments, a poster, sticker sheet, 20 colorful experiment cards, and data notebook to record observations. The highlight of this kit is the large plastic human body skeleton that Young Scientists will put together, label, and display. Seatbelts, everyone! Get ready to explore the Human Body! (Ages: 5 and up)
Next up – The Young Scientists Club, The Magic School Bus Space Lab. This would have been more of interest for my son. He was kind of a “space” guy!
Ms. Frizzle and her students take Young Scientists on a wild ride with The Magic School Bus as they explore Space. Young Scientists will use the included specialized astronomical device called the Star Pilot™ to locate constellations both on the star ball and in the night sky. Fun and exciting experiments and activities include making a constellation box, learning about the life cycle of a star, making a solar system mobile, creating a planet poster, making a night-vision flashlight, and much, much more! This inquisitive bus-shaped kit comes packed with science components for the experiments and activities, 20 colorful instruction cards, a 16 page booklet on constellation myths from all around the world, a data notebook, poster and the unique Star Pilot™. Seatbelts, everyone! Get ready to navigate the sky with Space Lab! (Ages: 5 and up)
No matter what your child is interested in, you can certainly find it in The Magic School Bus Series. The two kits above are just a small sampling of all that is available. They also have the Engineering Lab, Growing Crazy Crystals, Weather Lab, Explore the Wonders of Nature, Grow Amazing Polymers Group Pack, Slime and Polymer Lab (I think boys, especially, will like this one!), Attracted to Magnificent Magnets, Microscope Lab, Chemistry Lab, Blasting off with Erupting Volcanoes, and so many more.
With the holidays just around the corner, I cannot think of better gifts, for your own kids, or other kids that you love. It is fun and learning all mixed in one. The Young Scientists Club has SO many other neat products too – I hope you will check them out!
You can purchase all of the above on The Young Scientists Club website, and Amazon.

Both are excellent kits, but kids love night vision flashlights, so I would have to say the space lab kit. We are lucky in that we are able to share the rocket launches live streaming with kids on the NASA website. It is a great opportunity to talk about what they are doing. We are science enthusiasts and encourage our kids to really take advantage of all the great things they have that our generation did not.
