Draw and Color Your Way To a Younger Brain Book {Giveaway}

Draw and Color Your Way To a Younger Brain Book

About 3 years ago, my adult daughter and I began coloring. Not the crayons and children’s coloring books, but in grown-up books! Who knew back then what a rage this would be – we thought it was just us who enjoyed it, but then I saw several other friends on Facebook showing their artwork too. So naturally when I was offered Draw and Color Your Way to A Younger Brain by Anastasia Catris, I was overjoyed. In this book, I found wonderful outlines of a variety of animals that immediately made me giddy with all the ideas for patterns. I couldn’t wait to grab my colored pencils.

Recently, coloring has become quite trendy, and adult coloring books can now be found in large sections in major book stores! They’re great for sitting down and relaxing, which is especially nice when you have difficulty shutting down at night, like I tend to struggle with.

DRAW YOUR WAY TO A YOUNGER BRAIN takes coloring beyond it’s calming and de-stressing qualities. The 90 intricate line drawings of animals help to enhance your brain’s cognitive function through art therapy techniques. Train your brain and enhance your memory as you copy and complete outlines, doodle in the gaps, and progress to forming your own artistic designs. Line by line, heal your mind, boost your creativity, and improve your cognitive function as you fill in the pages with art and color.

Included in the book was some surprising, but delightful information. Newcastle University in England has found that not only does coloring help improve memory, it also is more effective than doing puzzles to improve cognitive function. This is great news, as the most common worry of those aging is memory loss. Now even though I’ve just celebrated my 10th year of turning 38, it is still annoying when I constantly forget where I left my phone, keys, etc. I’m so grateful for Draw and Color Your Way To a Younger Brain Book, as there is an easy way to build my memory up, while also having fun!

  1. My sweet little Chloe Pearl is obsessed with ART! Thank you for the chance to win this for her. She would be so thrilled to win!

  2. I love to color. I like the animal theme because my granddaughter and I like to color together and we both enjoy coloring animals.

  3. Audrey Okaneko on

    I love to color. I recently tried gel pens for the very first time and actually now want to frame that picture.

  4. I love to color and I am very happy to know it helps improve your memory. I would be very excited if I won because I love the sample pages of the book and I know I would enjoy coloring it.

  5. elizabeth miller on

    I would love to win this for my 11 year old and myself to color together. We have lots of long talks while coloring as it takes the “sermon” level away.

  6. Cathy Burnett on

    I have ALWAYS loved to color. I think that coloring inside the lines helps create beautiful handwriting. Just my opinion. I am fixing to celebrate my 62nd birthday and I still love the smell of a brand new box of Crayola Crayons. Don’t you?

  7. I am excited to see if coloring will help me relax. I think it would also keep my hands out of mindless snacking in the evening when watching tv.
