The best shoes for Plantar Fasciitis

About 9 years ago, I was suffering with incredibly painful Plantar Fasciitis. I had mostly been wearing flat flip flops, which I know is bad. I went to the doctor and we ended up getting inserts for regular shoes, but unfortunately they didn’t work. I cannot remember what else the doctor tried but nothing…I mean NOTHING, was working. Then one day, kind of by accident, I found the best shoes for Plantar Fasciitis!

I was babysitting my friend’s two kids for a week while she was having surgery. We went to the mall one day and were in Macy’s. Her two year old was racing around like crazy, and I was chasing her. My feet hurt SO bad and I was just ready to go back to the house. But I did need new shoes, so I continued on. I saw some “clog” type of shoes, and decided to try them on. I instantly knew this pair of shoes was a winner. I bought a brown pair and wore them every day. They were similar to these:

It was about a week later (I think) that I realized that I had no more plantar fasciitis pain. None. I bought another pair of shoes, this time in black. In the summer, I bought sandals from the same brand. The name of the brand is one I hadn’t heard of previously – “Fly Flot“. They are Italian made shoes and they seriously changed my life! I can honestly say that these shoes cured my Plantar Fasciitis. I have not had a problem – not even a twinge in my feet – in the past 9 years.

I now know that the key to curing this condition is to not wear flat shoes! There should be some type of heel with an arch. I can’t wear platform type shoes, as they hurt my back, but the Fly Flot shoes with a 1″ to 1 1/2″ wedge heel, seems to be perfect.

I am showing a few of their shoes below. There are many more available Fly Flot shoes to choose from on Amazon.com. If you do purchase any of them, I would really love to hear about your experience, and see if you agree that these are the best shoes for Plantar Fasciitis! Please feel free to comment below with your thoughts.

Here are a few pairs of Fly Flot shoes that are similar to the ones I had initially, as well as some sandals. They mention “slippers” on a lot of these, I notice, but I think they are actually clogs:
