When each holiday rolls around, I try to think of the easiest things I can make. I do this as I like to share my treats with a lot of people, to spread the cheer! These little Easter Bunny Buttons that I made are so incredibly easy to make, it is ridiculous.
Easy Easter Bunny Buttons
I like making these, as most of the work is already done for me. That is definitely the case with this simple Easter dessert. These little goodies are also nice to serve, as they don’t require cutting, cutlery and they aren’t messy to serve.
What you need
~Flips (or other white chocolate coated pretzel twists)
~Pastel colored M & M’s or other like candies
Do a little test with a couple of pretzels.
Every microwave oven is different. What you want to happen here is for the white chocolate to get just soft enough for the candies to stick to them, but not enough so the white chocolate melts off of the pretzel. We don’t want the base of your Easter Bunny Buttons to melt away!
Line a microwavable plate with a small piece of parchment paper. Place the pretzels on the plate, but make sure they don’t touch. Microwave for about 10 seconds, and remove. Place a couple of candies on the pretzel, pushing down lightly, and holding in place. If they don’t push down, then you’ll want to increase the cook time a little more. Play around with a few pretzels until you find the right amount of time for your microwave.
Once you find the right amount of time, you may choose to do 10 or so pretzels at a time, then add the candy, then do 10 more, etc. This will keep the consistency of the chocolate even while you work.
If the candies aren’t cooperating for some reason, you can always melt the white chocolate off of a pretzel (or melt white chocolate chips if you have them) and put a dab on the back of each candy and apply the candies that way.
Refrigerate to set – enjoy!
