Gone are the days of practical but not-so-attractive dinnerware! The Oneida Color Burst Collection is fresh, stylish and bold. I have been wanting to beautify my cabinets by filling them with colorful, trendy dishes but I also need dishes that are durable, microwave and dishwasher safe. When I see colorful dishes at the store, I immediately want to pick up several sets in a variety of colors, but usually I realize that they probably aren’t practical, or are just too expensive.
I was so excited when I was offered a review opportunity for a set of stoneware dishes from Oneida’s Color Burst Collection.

Enjoy the tangy color of fruit at every meal with contemporary Color Burst dinnerware. Crafted of stoneware, Color Burst is a vibrant and value-priced design. Service for 4 available in five fruit-inspired colors: Chili Mango, Berry Berry Blue, Very Cherry, Kiwi Green, and Lemon Drop.
I had the hardest time deciding which set I wanted, as every single color caught my eye. I finally decided on the Chili Mango, but I am going to order the other colors too. I am finally going to get rid of the mismatched, oddball dishes that have accumulated over the years, and deck out my cabinets in style. What makes me like the Oneida Color Burst Collection so much? In addition to the vibrant colors, I like these dishes for the following reasons:
Durability: This is important to me, as one of my daughter’s chores is loading and unloading the dishwasher. She is 14. Need I say more? She is a little rough, and it takes the strongest of dishes to stand up to her.
Microwaveable: Our microwave is our best friend. We use it constantly, and I cannot have cabinets full of dishes that are not microwave safe. From the late night dinners that need to be reheated when my husband gets home late from work to the cups of coffee that I reheat, Oneida Color Burst dishes hold their own.
Dishwasher safe: Pretty dishes are sometimes “fragile”. We don’t do fragile in this house, and we rarely hand-wash dishes. After several runs through our dishwasher, the Oneida dishes are still bright and have not faded.
Size: This may sound silly, but one of the things I also love is the size of the coffee mugs that come in this set. I use my Keurig to make my coffee, and I like to set it for the largest cup possible. With just about every other coffee mug I have, it fills it right to the brim, and I have to pour a little out to add cream. The Oneida mugs are the perfect size for the large setting on my Keurig, and that makes me a happy girl. The plates and bowls also stack so nicely, making my cabinets look neat and tidy.
Price: The price is only $49.99 for the 16 piece service for 4 and the set includes: 4 dinner plates, 4 salad plates, 4 soup bowls and 4 mugs. I think that is a very reasonable price for these gorgeous dishes!

Another colorful dish collection from Oneida is “Culinaria”. I have not reviewed these, but they look absolutely fabulous. They are available in a variety of colors, mostly earth tones.
You can purchase the Oneida Color Burst Collections on the Oneida website!

I love that the color is inside the bowls! What a novel idea!
It is really neat! Especially if you want everything in your cabinet to look like it’s white and the color is only inside. So many options! Thanks for commenting!
I really love the look of those! I think they’d look awesome in a mix and match color set. I have a different set of Oneida dishes and I love them, great quality!
Great looking dishes–love them! And I agree with you about the coffee mugs; I like them big. I also like that the soup bowls are deep–keeps soup hot longer than the shallow ones.
Ohh! I am loving that burst of mango! What a pretty color! Good choice! 🙂
OH these are so pretty LUV LUV THE red. Very nice
