There are tasty hamburgers, and then there are TASTY BURGERS! If you’ve seen the move Pulp Fiction then you might appreciate the phrase, “That’s a TASTY burger!”. There’s nothing better than going to a little hole in the wall hamburger joint and biting into a burger that tastes like…well, how a burger is supposed to taste. When I think of these types of hamburger places, I think of a seriously juicy burger.
It’s hard to make a homemade hamburger that tastes like a Big Kahuna burger. Burgers made at home are usually a little dried out. We’ve had burgers at BBQ’s before and they literally just added salt and pepper to the hamburger meat – they were really bland.
I want a seriously juicy hamburger!
The burgers I make are juicy and full of flavor. When we serve these burgers at our backyard barbecues, they are always a hit. Friends rave and wonder how they are made. I could be a jerk and tell them the recipe is an old family secret, but it’s really not. My mom did introduce me to it, but that’s it.
Here’s how you make a juicy burger:
1 lb. lean hamburger meat
1 piece of white bread, toasted
1/2 package Lipton onion soup mix
Crack egg into bowl and scramble.
Add the 1/2 package of onion soup mix and stir.
Toast piece of bread in toaster or toaster oven until lightly browned.
Crush bread in hand into crumbs/small chunks and add to egg mixture and let it sit for a couple of minutes to absorb.
Add hamburger meat and mix really well
Form patties and grill or cook in pan like you normally do.
NOTE: If you are making burgers for a larger crowd, you might need to double everything, including a whole packet of the onion soup mix.
The flavor is amazing
Not only is it a juicy hamburger, but the flavor is phenomenal. The onion soup mix is all of the flavoring the hamburger patties need. No other seasonings are necessary.
Fix ’em up!
Add your favorite fixins’ to your burger and you’ve got a little piece of heaven on earth in your hands. You can even throw a fried egg on top – that’s the new thing these days and it’s pretty darned good. Plus it goes well with the bacon that I’m sure you’ll want to add. You’re welcome 🙂
