5 Tips to Plan a Kickass Gaming Night

Video games used to be seen as something that only kids played, but that’s no longer the case. Things have changed a lot in recent years, and these days you’ll find all ages and genders enjoying video games to relax and have fun. And, if that’s the case for you, having a gaming night sounds just about the perfect way to spend time with your friends. So, let’s take a look at some tips on hosting the ultimate gaming night.

Arrange a day that’s ideal for everyone

A gaming night isn’t truly complete if one or more members of the gang can’t make it, so the first thing you need to do is arrange a day/night that’s ideal for everyone’s schedules. Not only that, if you know your guest numbers, it allows you to make sure that the area you’re gaming in has enough room and seating for everyone to relax and have fun.

Create the perfect gaming setup

Speaking of seating, the next task is to make sure your gaming setup is bang on. You’ll need to make sure the seating available has a clear view of the screen and is plenty comfortable to be sat on for the evening. You could add throws and cushions for people to really make themselves at home while gaming.

Next you’ll need to make sure you’ve got room for anyone that might bring their laptops or other consoles to set up and plug in. This will involve being smart about where your plug sockets are too, so it might be a good idea to pick up some extension cables so that everyone can plug in and enjoy.

Practise!

While gaming is absolutely meant to be fun, there’s nothing wrong with some friendly competition. Once you’ve got a date set for your gaming night, you can begin practising. That might mean spending time in bo6 bot lobbies or speed gearing your rogue for PvP on WoW, but it will make the difference once it’s time to play. Plus, who doesn’t secretly love showing off their progress and stats to their friends?

Plan some snacks

Now is the time to think about snacks. And, if you’re a true gamer, you’ll know that not just any snack will do. The last thing you need while gaming is to have to take your hands away from your keyboard or controller for a long period of time. Not only that, you don’t want greasy fingers either. Grab some snacks that are easy to eat with one hand like trail mix, chocolate, cookies, tortilla chips, beef jerky and sandwiches. Trust us, everyone will thank you.

Invite people to dress up

Finally, why not add another layer of excitement to your gaming night by dressing up? Perhaps you could cosplay your character or maybe you can invite people to wear any gaming clothing they have like a Mario t-shirt or a Diablo hoodie? Even if it’s something small like Donkey Kong earrings, it’s another way to all feel included and enjoy your evening!
