Aren’t I gorgeous dahhhhling? I adore sunglasses (and I pretty much wear them anytime I am outdoors, to avoid getting wrinkles and to protect my eyes).

These are the new Elle sunglasses I received from Kohl’s for review. I adore them! Kohl’s has such a wonderful selection of brand name glasses at really affordable prices. More about that later, but let’s talk about the right kind of sunglasses for different

One of the reasons I am so happy to discover Kohl’s sunglasses is that I have a really hard time finding the right sunglasses. Everyone has different shaped faces, and mine is…just…weird. I don’t even know if I have a particular shape, but I cannot wear big glasses, or round glasses. I think rectangular/oval glasses look best on me, otherwise my whole face just kind of disappears.

Kohl’s provided me with a few tips on picking the right shaped sunglasses, that I am thrilled to share with you. If your face is:

Round: Wear square or rectangular frames to create contrast. Choose frames that are equal to or slightly wider than the broadest part of the face.

Square: You want to choose sunglasses that have a higher top than the bridge (which will add dynamics to this face shape). Definitely try oval and round frames to soften your facial features.

Long: The face is longer than it is wide, so keep an eye out for volume (not length) when you are trying on sunglasses. Opt for more angular and squared lenses.

Oval: You can wear just about any pair of sunglasses as long as your face is uniform from top to bottom. Try on a variety of shades and don’t forget about the fun and flirty patterns to spice things up a bit.

Heart-shaped: Make sure you choose a pair that will draw attention downward. This will add width to the lower part of the face. See if you can find glasses that are wider at the top and a bit narrower at the bottom (cat-eye sunglasses and aviators).

Isn’t this a great collection of sunglasses? You can find the above glasses at Kohl’s! They have plenty of brand name glasses including Lauren Conrad, Elle, Mudd, Docker’s, Candies, as well as Apt. 9 and Sonoma. The prices for the glasses pictures above range from $10 to $30 (with most being about $20).

I love the Elle sunglasses I chose ($30 ARV) and they will certainly get a lot of use this Summer, and I think they make me look pretty darned good, too!

What shape is your face and what kind of sunglasses do you typically buy?

*I received the above product, free of charge, to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.

  1. Funny, I buy at least one pair a year. Not because I wear them *so* often, but because I really only wear them 3 months out of the year! LOL Luv actually has three pairs sitting on her bookshelf as I type and I can only find one. Hmmph. Must remedy this with Kohl’s…
