Summer is winding down where I live but it is still nice enough to get out there an enjoy the beautiful weather.  Whether you live in a climate like mine, are planning a vacation, or thinking ahead to next year you should know the name Sunuva.

logoI want my kids to play outside, I want them to have fun building sandcastles and body boarding in the surf, but what I don’t want them is getting burned.  The most simple way to avoid those summer burns is to cover up and use sunscreen.  Children’s skin is thinner and far more sensitive meaning it can be damaged much more easily.  Starting off early with using sunscreen and covering them with UV protective swimwear will teach our children sun safety and lesson their risk of melanoma.

suit (1 of 1)Sunuva’s founders, Emily and Sabrina have created rash vests that are made from Italian fabric providing 50+ UPF for your kids.  What is UPF?  UPF is a measure of the UV Protection Factor given to the skin by a fabric. A UPF rating of 50+ gives excellent UV protection, blocking out 97.5% – 98% of the sun’s rays.  That is what I want for my children which is why I search out rash guards for them.

My biggest issue, for girls, is actually find them.  With so many mamas out there just like me worrying about our children’s skin you wouldn’t think it would be so hard to find fashionable cute swimwear.  But it is.  I had not heard of Sunuva before I was able to review the 3 pieces that they sent us.  Since receiving them my oldest daughter has worn her rash guard not only for swimming but also on a family hike.  The tops are super cute, have tons of detail, dry quickly, and are easy to care for.  The gathered sleeves with button detail and the finished off with wooden beads on the bottom make this top adorable and worthy of much more than just swimming.

I also care about modesty and I found the bottoms to be perfect.  The set we reviewed got a “2 thumbs up” from my 8 year old who is quite picky on what she wears these days.  The colors are vibrant, the suits are well made, and I believe with 3 girls in my house this suit will be enjoyed for years to come!

Founders Emily and Sabrina felt the same way as I do but they did something about it.  They couldn’t find the swimwear they wanted for their kiddos so they created Sunuva to make their own.  When they didn’t like the prints offered they designed their own to create the look they wanted.  I love that!  What happened was a collection of unique bohemian styled swimwear that your kids will love to wear and you will be thrilled to put them in!
