Eucerin Skin Care Awareness Month

{CLOSED}
Eucerin Skin First Netword Ambassador

Over the past couple of months, I have been filling you in on the latest skin care news from Eucerin. I hope by now you have all had a chance to take the Eucerin Skin First Pledge, and have encouraged others to do so as well.

People seem to easily forget how important our skin is, yet it is often neglected. Oftentimes, we take our skin for granted. Despite it being our bodies’ largest organ, we tend to ignore our skin’s needs until something goes wrong. Neglecting our skin not only leaves our bodies exposed to infectious bacteria that can permeate damaged or malnourished skin, it also costs US consumers nearly $42 billion a year in direct medical costs on the 22 most common skin diseases.

As September is National Skin Care Awareness Month, we hope you’ll take a stand with us, as a part of the Eucerin Skin FIRST Network, and help change that trend and spread the word about treating your skin care more like your overall health care. Since September is National Skin Care Awareness Month, Eucerin wants to remind people of these simple steps they can take to ensure that their skin is properly cared for. I hope you will read through the tips, and pass them along to others. This information is much too important to keep to yourself!

Eucerin Skin First Ambassadors

Tip #1 – Cleanse Gently If you’ve ever felt like your skin is a little too tight, it may be a sign that you have not cleansed properly. Clean skin is the first step in keeping skin healthy. Whether your skin is dry, oily, or somewhere in between, dermatologists recommend using a mild, non-irritating cleanser rather than a harsh soap. Otherwise, you run the risk of striping your skin’s natural oils, which can lead to overly tight-feeling skin.
Tip #2 – Moisturize Properly Moisturizers bind water to the skin so that it doesn’t evaporate as quickly. The right moisturizer can also help bring the right pH balance to your skin and enhance its natural defenses. A product like Eucerin’s Daily Skin Balance Skin-Fortifying Body lotion can help accomplish this by providing a pH buffer and all day moisturization while strengthening your skin’s protective barrier against external elements like pollution and climate changes.
Tip #3 – Take Time to Relax If you’re under a great deal of stress, chances are your skin is too. Stressed-out skin can eventually become thin and less able to regenerate itself. You can help prevent this by taking take time to focus and center yourself every day. This can aid not just your mental health, but the health of your skin and body as well.
Tip #4 – Feed Your Skin Right Finally, the old adage “you are what you eat” is never truer than it is with your skin. For instance, foods with high antioxidant levels, like blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and plums, can help neutralize free radicals that can damage collagen and elastin, proteins that help maintain skin’s elasticity and tone.

Eucerin Skin First ambassador, Eucerin giveaway
Eucerin Every Protection Face Lotion with SPF 30

My tip: I have been very diligent with my skin care regimen, especially since I received Eucerin lotions to try. The best part {and what makes it so easy}, is that there is a lotion for the parts of your body that need protecting. Often our faces are overlooked, as we use makeup and don’t remember to put on lotion beforehand. Some foundations and mineral makeup do have sunscreen in them, but our faces still need moisture. If your makeup does not have SPF in it, you are left unprotected. I use Eucerin Everyday Protection Face Lotion with SPF 30 each day before applying my makeup. After I apply it, I use a tissue and pat my face lightly, then apply my mineral makeup. I feel confident that my face is adequately protected from the sun’s harmful rays, even on a cloudy day.  Make sure you check out my other skin care tips!

  2. It’s more like what steps am I “not” taking-I do it all as I get older. LOL! I use Eucerin with SPF 30 every day and have been since I was 25…It’s perfect for my sensitive skin.

  3. I use sunscreen as much as possible, I take quick showers and use body wash now instead of soap and I will switch back & forth between using a body oil before drying off with a towel or I will use a body scrub that has oil in it to exfoliate my skin while taking my shower. I try to put lotion on my legs and arms as much as possible and I do try to drink as much fluids as possible.

  4. Well the first thing I did was stop tanning. I’ve had some skin cancer scares so I try to avoid the sun completley or bring an umbrella with me (raining or not).

  5. After cleansing my face at bedtime I use a nightly moisturizer that contains vitamin C which is good for anti aging and those beginning fine lines and wrinkles and every morning I also use a daytime moisturizer with SPF 30 and my make up also contains SPF 15, we need to be proactive against sun damage because the UV & sun causes wrinkles (and skin cancer too) so I avoid being out in direct sun during the day and wear sunscreen at all times. I am 50 but no one believes me when I tell them so I hope that I’ve been doing something right all these years

    thanks for the great giveaway

  9. Growing up, I never knew about sun protection. In fact, I thought baby oil WAS sun block! After having skin cancer at 19, I am very strict about putting on sunblock every single day- whether or not the sun is out or if it is hot! My kids do the same, and it is our new normal! (just like brushing our teeth!)

  10. I try to stay out of the sun when I can. If I can’t, I ALWAYS use sunscreen. I also moisturize my skin every morning.
