Crayola products have always been a staple in my home, the same as pretty much every home in America with children. Many boring waits at doctors offices, rainy days inside, and place-mats in restaurants have been brightened with
Crayola crayons, markers, and paints. Every year I look forward to seeing what new and exciting products crayola comes out with for the holidays, and this year has been no different. When I got the opportunity for my family to try out some new
Crayola products, and reacquaint ourselves with some old favorites, I was beyond excited.

My seven year old got excited just seeing the trademark colorful
Crayola box when it arrived in the mail. The torture of sitting through dinner before opening it up and finding what goodies were inside was almost too much for her. We were able to try out, or rather, play with several of
Crayola’s tried and true favorite stocking stuffers, such as the
16 count Pip-Squeaks Markers, the
5 count Super Sparkle Washable Glitter Glue, and the
10 count Washable Super Tips Markers. These products are great for allowing your child to use their imagination to create wonderful works of art, but can also be used to make awesome gifts for your little one to give to others this holiday season.

The first thing my kiddo got her hands on was the
Crayola 8 count Frozen Crystal Effects Window Markers. We have a very large sliding glass door in the back of our house which she very quickly adorned with colorful creations that quickly crystallized to look as if the drawings had been put there by colorful frost! The great thing about these markers is the ease with which they wipe off, so your child can create a whole new masterpiece! My little one also enjoys playing games on the windows, like hangman, while we all sit in the family room guessing what word she’s come up with.

My little one has a chalk-board door, so naturally the next items she went after were the
Build Your Box Chalk in Arctic Fire and
Cool Blue Sky. Whether it’s writing a nice message to whoever may pass her room like “Happy Holidays” or drawing a picture of a scary ice monster, my kiddo had a blast creating her chalk creations in her room. Once she got bored inside, she took the chalk outside for a fun game of hopscotch on the back patio. The chalk is also made thick enough that they don’t break when used by a child, and has lasted through several sessions of use.

Next, my kiddo decided to use her
Color Wonder Coloring Pad and
Gel Paint to paint her little sister a cute Minnie Mouse picture. The coloring pad that we received was Minnie Mouse themed and had several cute pictures to paint. Because the
Color Wonder paint only works on the special
Color Wonder paper, I didn’t have to worry about my little one making a mess while she painted and had her cookie snack!

My husband ended up having a blast with the
2 count Holiday Silly Putty Pack that we received. He quickly made up a game where he would place the silly putty on an object, like a pen, take it off, and my kiddo had to guess what object made the indentation in the
Silly Putty. They also had a blast using the
Silly Putty as bouncy balls!
Silly Putty has so many uses that I think it makes the perfect stocking stuffer for the young and young at heart.
I then had my little one make salt dough for fun salt dough ornament gifts and she used the 10 count Washable Neon Kids’ paint to paint the ornaments after they had cooled off. I know the family members that will be receiving these ornament gifts are going to love how they turned out! The paint was perfect to use, too. Every time we opened the jars there were no clumps or weird liquid floating a the tops of the jars like with some paints we have tried in the past.

Another
Crayola product that my kiddo was excited to try out was the
8 count Metallic Markers. She is getting to the age where all things sparkly and shiny are catching her attention, and these markers were perfect! She loved writing with the different markers to see just how metallic they really were. I can’t wait to see what fun creations she will come up with using the rich colors from the markers.
The Crayola 24 count Fun Effects! Twistable Crayons are also great because you never have to worry about the crayon needing to be sharpened, about extra paper being peeled off the crayon, or about the crayon breaking during use. The Fun Effects! colors are vibrant and rich, with a row included of combined colors for interesting contrasts and fun designs. With the ease of use of these crayons, I’m tempted to keep them for myself!

We also received a
Crayola Meltdown Art Set. This set uses crayons and a hair dryer to create unique, melted crayon artworks. We haven’t had the opportunity to use the
Meltdown Art Set yet, but I have a feeling we’ll be able to create some great additions to my little one’s art creations.

Our last, and most exciting,
Crayola product we were able to try out was their
Projector Light Designer. The projector comes with 4 sheets that can be colored on and then placed on the projector, making your child’s images seem larger than life! Children can also stack the sheets on top of each other to create a layered look. A fun idea we had was for each of us to draw on a sheet, that way we can combine our art together to make one final picture that we then project onto the ceiling. My kiddo had fun drawing different landscapes, shapes, and even some outer space designs that she projected onto the ceiling in her room that she could lay in bed and look at.
Crayola has come out with a lot of fun new products for this holiday season. If you know a kiddo interested in making their own items, you can try the
Beadola Bead Maker or the
Paint Maker. In addition to the
Projector Light Designer there is also the
Shadow FX Color Projector– which uses a tri-color light base to project shadows, the
See-Thru Light Designer– which offers 7 different light effect combinations and the ability to place an object like a toy into your kiddos creation, and the
Widescreen Light Designer– which uses a very large, reusable drawing surface and 7 different lighting effects to bring artwork to life. For little ones who are interested in unique ways of creating art, there is the
Color Wonder Mess Free Airbrush that allows little hands to create beautiful airbrush artwork. To help encourage creative talents in kiddos, there is the
Sketch Wizard– which helps 8- to 12-year olds draw what they see, the
Virtual Design Pro Fashion Collection– which has children create fashion and a virtual fashion show, and the
Virtual Design Pro Car Collection– which lets kids create a car in their physical world, and has it come to life in the virtual world.

Whether you’re looking for some fun stocking stuffers, some great presents to put under the tree, or something to help your little ones create unique and interesting gifts for others-
Crayola has you covered. Each year they manage to come out with more fun and unique items that allow children to explore, create, and interact with the world around them, and this year is no different. Be sure to check out these new products, as well as all the rest of their great tried and true items, for some great inspiration this holiday season!
