Create Just About ANYTHING with Cricut Explore

For the longest time, I would hear people raving about their Cricut. I knew that it was something that a scrapbooker needed to have, that it was fun, and it was addicting. When the opportunity to receive and review a Cricut Explore came up, I literally jumped up and down. I surely was not let down in my expectations!

Cricut Explore is an electronic cutting machine that cuts a design you create or choose from out of more than 50,000+ images in the program. You can customize images or choose from many available Make It Now projects. The Cricut will cut vinyl, iron-on, paper, fabric, duct tape… it seems like Cricut will cut nearly anything and you can create everything from it. The Cricut Design Space is extremely easy to use and there are some really nice fonts and images you can purchase to add-on. I made the mistake of trying to use my own, skinny font, to cut something and it ripped the paper because it was too thin, so I recommend using one of the Cricut-specific fonts if you’re cutting!

Cricut can also draw, which is even cooler to me. I love to watch it go, like a little robot. I’m convinced that every project I ever did or wanted to do could have been made easier and better with a Cricut. One of my favorite projects previous to owning a Cricut, was creating a personalized onesie/going home outfit for my youngest daughter. I spent so much time cutting fabric by hand. I cut out a large initial and then her full name, smaller, and ironed each of them onto the onesie with one overlapping the other. With a Cricut Explore, this would have been such a breeze! I will be making several of these onesies over again, just because it will be so easy!

My to-do list for Cricut projects is ten miles long. I started with something simple because I was afraid to mess up some of my materials while still being a beginner. I cut some pretty duct tape and made a sign of my daughter’s name for her room, which only took a few minutes!

I made an entire section on my Pinterest for projects to do with my Cricut before I even received it, and then I realized that the The Cricut Design Space is full of Make It Now projects too! I want to make pretty labels for everything in my house, especially kitchen containers. Christmas ornaments personalized with vinyl names are absolutely happening this holiday season. We’ve wanted to put a few quotes on the walls and I wasn’t the most thrilled with the cost of buying them, especially when I wasn’t in control of how they came out. That’s a thing for me, I prefer to make EVERYTHING, if I can. Before the Cricut Explore, that wasn’t really an option for the signs and now it absolutely is and it’s another project that I’ll definitely be doing!

I think that now is the ideal time to get a Cricut Explore for yourself, with the holiday season approaching. The Cricut can write your holiday cards and cut out paper embellishments, making a gorgeous card to send out to your loved ones! Then, there are all of the DIY gifts that you can give out. Personalize a candle with vinyl, a blanket with fabric, make a cute little tag for the banana bread you’re gifting. I could talk forever with all of the things you can make with a Cricut but I’m just that excited!

Let’s not forget that you can buy a Cricut Explore as a gift for the holidays, or some accessories, fonts, or templates for those that are already regular Cricutters! Now the precision on my projects will be perfect and most importantly to me, I will be able to do five crafts in the time it originally took me to do one! I definitely believe that every crafter needs to own a Cricut machine and I’m a little amazed that I ever got along without one. Now the precision on my projects will be perfect and most importantly to me, I will be able to do five crafts in the time it originally took me to do one!
