Let’s face it – mornings can be hectic! Between the kids racing around getting ready for school, and parents making sure they have everything they need to take to work, the day can start out quite stressful. The best way to start a day is a yummy breakfast. It doesn’t always have to be something really “involved” – there are options for easy and on-the-go breakfasts.

Did you know that Jif recently came out with new flavored peanut butter spreads? Yep, I was pretty excited to hear this too, and I was even more excited when I actually tasted these. The new flavors are Maple and Cinnamon, and let me tell you, they are to die for. The flavors really come through but they aren’t overly strong. They taste is very natural and subtle. These spreads will definitely have their permanent spot on our kitchen table!

I wanted to get creative and make something fun, tasty and great for taking along to school or work. Of course, they also work perfectly well for snacking or for eating breakfast at home.

This is such a simple recipe – only four ingredients are needed: JIF Maple Peanut Butter Spread, crescent roll dough, bacon and brown sugar.

You can make these with as much or little of the spread as desired, but a certain amount is necessary for the flavor to really come through.

Cook bacon until crisp.

Unroll a package of crescent rolls (or more than one package if you are making a big batch), and separate on a large cutting board. Spread Jif Maple Breakfast Spread on each piece

and sprinkle with brown sugar:

Crumble bacon and sprinkle on each piece.

Start at the wide end of the triangle (I folded one side in a bit to get it started) and roll each one. Bake at 375 degrees for 9-12 minutes. I sprinkled mine with powdered sugar to add a little color.

Voila!

While we are on the subject of mornings, I have a few morning hacks I would like to share with you.  I can’t stress enough how helpful it is to do as much as you can the night before, to make the next morning go smoothly. Here are the happy morning hacks that have worked well for me over the years:

morning hacks
The night before:
~ If you are able to prepare some type of easy and/or breakfast that can be easily reheated, by all means do it. The recipe above is a perfect example of a simple grab and go type of breakfast. There are so many options with new Jif Flavored Breakfast Spreads.

~ Keep Jif Maple and Cinnamon Breakfast Spreads on the table.  This will make it easy for your family to make a quick breakfast of toast and one of these tasty peanut butter flavors.

~ Choose outfits for the whole family (or let them do it). One thing I did when my daughter was little, was to put an outfit for each day of the week, into a resealable gallon size bag. I wrote the day on the front of the bag and put them in her closet in a bin. This saved SO much time, and we didn’t have to waste time searching for matching socks at the last minute. I didn’t have to worry about trying to find her outfits last minute. Being stress-free in the morning is a great way to start the day.

~ Finish homework the night before, sign any necessary papers/forms and have it already packed in your child’s backpack by morning. Sometimes this is easier said than done, as kids have an awful habit of “remembering” an important paper at the last minute, but do check their backpacks the night before, in case there are papers they might have missed.

~ Make sure your car has gas each night! There is nothing worse than heading out to school or work at the last minute, only to discover that your gas tank is on empty. If you have to stop and get gas in the morning, it can definitely make you late to your destination. Fill up on Sundays if you can.

You can find the new Jif Breakfast Spreads at your local grocery store and other retailers. I am smitten with these and it is safe to say that I will be using these in all kinds of new recipes. I love to create new recipes and I also love peanut butter. Check out the Jif website for inspiration!

I would love to hear how you will use them!
