I love hosting. Whether friends or family – I’m glad cook, provide beverages and of course memories in the making. One thing that I’m always lacking is ice. My fridge ice maker just can’t seem to handle company. Works great for our little family but add in a few more drinks and you’re out of luck.
As a host, I don’t ever want to say “Hope you like no Iced Tea!” Thanks to the
Magic Chef Countertop Ice Maker, I never will!
I can’t tell you how excited I was to try this little guy out! A couple of notable features:
- Makes ice in as little as 7 minutes
- Two sizes of cubes
- Yields 9 ice cube per cycle
I gave it a quick cleaning and put it to work. A rather simple process, with a drain port at the bottom of the machine you can make as much or as little ice as you desire. Simply plug your machine in, select ice cube size and you are ready to go! It’s easy to empty the ice basket when full with the handy ice scooper or simply remove the ice basket. Keep an eye on it because once the basket is too full, the Magic Chef Countertop Ice Maker will not make any more ice until space is freed up.
I’d like to point out that I put the
Magic Chef Countertop Ice Maker on a cutting board because there are screws on the bottom of the device and they
will scratch your countertops.
Just take my word for it, mmmm’okay?
Otherwise, I’m pleased and super surprised how much ice the Magic Chef Countertop Ice Maker makes with approximately 10 cups of water.
The ice – oh, the ice is perfect too! Right out of the hopper it’s a softer ice, perfect to crunch on. We made both small and large cubes but I couldn’t really tell a difference in size. Either way, I’ve been making batches and storing them in the freezer.

I am a foodie and I entertain people here at our home several times a month. I would like to win this because I am always running out of ice and having to buy bagged ice which is expensive and at times terrible. Just a pain to run out & get it and lug it home

Hi, I would love this ice maker. I am disabled and have steps in my house. I stay in my room most of every day and am not able to go up and down the steps to get ice from the kitchen refrigerator.
Having this would mean I’d be able to have nice cold drinks. I would be able to have this in my bathroom on my sink so I could easily get ice. Right now, I have to bother others to bring me ice and it’s annoying to them and I hate having to ask them.

My refrigerator is probably 15 years old & it doesn’t have an automatic ice maker. The freezer is small & only has room for 2 old fashioned ice cube trays. We’ve got 5 kids – so in the dead of summer when it is blazing hot out, with 7 people in the house – we need a LOT of ice cubes & those 2 trays aren’t going to cut it! This would be great for us.

I moved into my house almost 5 years ago and the ice maker in the fridge worked for about a week and then never worked again. Whoever designed our freezer didn’t do a very good job. There isn’t a single flat spot, so we can’t put ice cube trays anywhere. Having an ice maker would make it so we can actually have ice in our house.
