In January we sent out our Year in Review cards to family and friends. Of course, that meant taking updated pictures of our little family. We were so pleased with how they turned out, I immediately printed some for frames. But there was one picture in particular that I knew I wanted on a canvas.
PrintKEG just so happens to be an affordable online printing company. Since they focus on small print projects they can provide them inexpensively.
I chose a wrapped canvas on .75″ wood beams. I will say, The PrintKEG site is a different than what I am used to when ordering a canvas print. First, you make your selections {size, paper, quantity, proof, and canvas wrap}. You also can choose your File Prep. This just decides whether you will upload your own design/file to be printed or you can select the Just Make My Graphic Work option where the PrintKEG art department will re-size your file, accommodate bleed areas, fix margins, etc. Once the options are selected, you add your canvas to the cart. From here, you will go through the entire checkout process. Only then do you upload your photo file.
Most PrintKEG orders are printed and shipped within 24-48 hours – which is a fantastic turnaround! My wrapped canvas arrived safe and sound, inside a sturdy shipping box encased in thick bubble wrap. I knew just where to display it!
You see, in our house we have a double-sided fireplace between our dining room and living room. On each side, there are two built-in ledges where I put candles and pictures. I set our wrapped canvas on one and stepped back to admire it.
I have a couple framed photos from our Year in Review “photo shoot” on the ledge below. We’ve received several compliments on this canvas’ quality already and I just love how it looks against the fireplace. I’ll definitely keep PrintKEG in mind when I want another special canvas print. They’d make such wonderful gifts, too!
