Kohana Skin review and giveawayKohana Review and giveaway

Ahhh to be on the islands, soaking up the sun as the warm breeze washes over me. Back to reality. I am not on the islands, but am reminded of them so much when using lotions and skin products from Kohana Skin.

Kohana’s mission is to create exceptional bath and beauty products made with fair trade, natural and organic ingredients. Organic aloe vera juice, green papaya fruit enzymes, macadamia nut butter, lavender hydrosol, kukui nut oil and Dead Sea salt are some of the luxurious ingredients that are used in the five exotic skin care collections. Our products are paraben-free, dye-free, sili cone-free and contain no artificial fragrances. We utilize only pure essential oils, flower extracts and hydrosols to create our exquisite scents. Our product packaging is recycleable and our gift set packaging is biodegradable. In fact, the packaging is so attractive, it can easily be reused for another purpose. We are a cruelty-free company and do not support animal testing.

Kohana travel set review
I was first attracted to Kohana Skin when I saw their beautiful labels and packaging. They are bold and colorful. I didn’t know how much I would love the products inside the attractive packaging, but after trying them I am smitten. I received the Pala’au Spa Travel Set, which contains 2 ounces Lavender Sugar Scrub, 2 ounces Lavender Butter Creme, and 4 ounces Soothing Lavender Masque. I love Lavender scented products, but I find that many of them are either overpowering, or the scent is just “off”. Kohana Skin lavender products are the type of lavender I love – light, natural and authentic. I was surprised how big the items were in this travel set. Usually if I receive a travel set, the products are really small. Obviously the size of these products made me happy. I cannot describe accurately how gorgeous these tins are – I will definitely be saving them after I have finished using the products inside. I am thinking they would make a great place to put my earrings.

When translated, the Hawaiian word Pala’au means to heal with herbs. Kohana’s Pala’au Spa Collection offers healing skin care formulations incorporating organic herbal ingredients such as aloe vera juice, lavender distillate, chamomile distillate, green tea and chickweed, just to name a few. These herbal extracts and distillates replenish moisture and help heal dry skin. Aromatic Lavender has a lovely soothing fragrance and is used extensively in herbalism and aromatherapy. It has been incorporated in each product to enhance its anti-inflammatory properties and promote skin health. Lavender has a long history of beneficial uses and has been grown in the Hawaiian Islands for over a hundred years. The island of Maui is fortunate to enjoy the beautiful Ali’i Lavender Farm which resides on the slopes of Haleakala.

Kohana skin review and giveaway

I could not wait to try the darling products in this travel set.  I pulled them all out and had my own mini spa night.  I applied the Soothing Lavender Masque on my face and neck and let it do it’s thing.  I rinsed it off after about 15 minutes to discover skin that was fresh, clean and rejuvenated. I also had the pleasure of inhaling the light fresh scent while it was on my face!

Pamper yourself with our fabulous organic facial masques. Formulated with hydrating aloe vera, tropical fruit enzymes, and healing lavender distillate, our vegan facial masques promote skin repair and increase hydration of the skin. Create a healthy, radiant glow to your skin by incorporating Kohana’s facial masques as a part of your regular skin care regimen.

Next I tried the Kohana Skin Lavender Sugar Scrub.  I used this on my hands, arms and chest.  I scrubbed and scrubbed, then rinsed with warm water.  Pure bliss.  I first noticed that the water actually repelled off my skin – that is how much moisture stayed in my skin!   I love this product.  Smooth, soft hydrated skin is very important to me.

Exfoliating has always been an important part of skin care treatments. Exfoliation helps to rejuvenate the skin by exposing a smoother and more supple layer of skin. A body scrub also aids in unclogging pores and cleaning the skin’s surface. Kohana has created an amazing assortment of body scrubs formulated with organic sugar, Hawaiian sea salt and exotic butters to pamper your body and help you achieve soft, healthy skin.

I was a little sad as my spa treatment was coming to an end, but once I tried the Lavender Butter Cream, I forgot all about that. I loved everything about it – the moisture it provided, the scent, and just the feel.

An effective moisturizer prevents, as well as treats, dry skin. It protects the skin and improves skin tone and texture. Kohana offers impressive body cremes that combat dry skin through the use of rich butters and nutritious tropical oils, which have been formulated without parabens or synthetic fragrances. From organic light, whipped cremes utilizing the healing effects of herbs, to thick, rich cremes that implement the moisturizing benefits of tropical oils like kukui and macadamia nut oils, we offer exactly what you want: soft, irresistible skin.

You can order Kohana Skin products online. These would make wonderful gifts, especially now that Summer is here! Kohana Skin has other items and scents that I would love to try. I think when I run out of my current products, I will try a few others. I might even stray from the Lavender scent, as I have a feeling I will love their other scents just as much. I would describe these scents, but I am going to let you see for yourself all that Kohana has to offer, when you enter to win below!
