Thanksgiving is over now, and the shopping season has begun!  Although I didn’t venture out for Black Friday, I did so some shopping two days before (trying to avoid the crowds!).  Although I needed several items, I was mainly shopping for one thing – Peet’s Holiday Blend Coffee.  You might remember how I adore Peet’s Coffee from my Peet’s Coffee Switch post, so I was looking forward to this trip!

I love putting together gift baskets for holiday gift giving, usually I will add candy, maybe an ornament and the main attraction.  It is just fun to create personalized gifts, I think.

I brought my daughter with me, as she is like her mama, and loves to shop  We were also going to be looking for a television set for her, and I needed a few other items.

My daughter spotted this before anything else, and wanted to get it for our cat, Newman.  We thought about it for a few minutes and decided that he probably wouldn’t cooperate if we tried to put this on him, so we decided not to get it

For this shopping expedition, I was asked to come up with a gift idea using Peet’s Holiday Blend.  I had a few ideas in mind, but ultimately I wanted to buy a cute and festive mug to go along with the coffee.  This gift is for my BFF, who loves holiday penguins, snowman, etc.

I had a blast shopping at Target, and was so happy that not only did they have Peet’s Coffee in the regular coffee aisle, but they had a whole display separately as well, a few aisles down from the rest of the coffee.  AND they were on sale!  Now would be a great time to stock up on these, whether you are buying them for gift-giving or for yourself – that is a great price!

I was a little disappointed though, that the Peet’s Holiday Blend was not in the regular coffee aisle – only their other flavors.  I would hate for anyone to miss the Holiday Blend by not seeing the special display a few aisles down.  It might be a little hard to find if you weren’t looking for it specifically.

Can you say festive?

We grabbed a bag of the Peet’s Holiday Blend ground coffee, then headed to the holiday candy section to see what goodies we could find. I was excited to see these special Hershey’s Kisses…aren’t they cute?

But back to Peet’s  I found some cute little hot chocolate boxes, and used the mug and candy canes from another little gift set which contained a hot-chocolate packet.  I added a bag of Ghirardelli candy and put a homemade bow on the Peet’s Holiday Blend Coffee to create this gift set:

I will put this in a gift basket and wrap in cellophane with a large bow for the final gift, but I wanted you to be able to see everything that will be included in the gift set.
