Get Brewing with the Keurig K65 Special Edition – Review & Giveaway

I participated in a campaign on behalf of One2One Network for Keurig. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

Alright, friends, I am going to jump right in on this one. How many of you are coffee drinkers? How many of you enjoy a good cup of tea? How about a soothing hot chocolate, topped with marshmallows perhaps?

Between the three options, I’m going to place my bet and say that just about all of you answered yes to at least one of those, if not more. Right? Now, what if I told you that you could make all of the above with the help from one simple machine? Surely, you’d all be on board. Well, get ready to jump for joy because, of course, that statement is truer than true all thanks to this lovely company called – everybody with me now – Keurig!

Despite the fact that I’ve worked in a coffee shop and certainly know my way around machines and different styles and tastes of each individual bean and region in which it’s harvested from, I actually cannot stand coffee. Having said that, I’ve never owned a coffee pot nor have I ever found it necessary to have one. Surely, I’ve felt sorry for not having one on hand during the times that we have company over. A little coffee to go along with some breakfast, brunch, or dessert would certainly be ideal for many and thus far, I’ve had to apologetically offer something in place of this. Well, not any longer! As a sucker for tea (both, iced and hot) and a marshmallow topped hot chocolate on cool nights, you can surely count on the fact that I was jumping for joy when I was offered the opportunity to put a good ol’ Keurig K65 Special Edition brewer to the test!

Keurig K65 Special Edition

“First cup. Fourth cup – with Keurig, it’s always a fresh cup. The Special Edition Brewing System brews a perfect cup of coffee, tea, hot cocoa or iced beverage in under one minute at the touch of a button. Featuring chrome accents and a blue backlit LCD display, the Special Edition brewer allows you to program water temperature, set the digital clocl and Auto On/Off. With the choice of three cup sizes, the Special Edition brewer offers a removable drip tray to accommodate travel mugs. Includes a Bonus 12 Count Keurig variety sampler, water filter handle, and 1 charcoal filter.”

After taking it out of the box, it was time to get it all set up. Initially, it obviously needed a good cleaning of, both, the water reservoir as well as the filter itself. The step-by-step instructions were quite easy to follow and I actually did all of this as our children were finishing up their dinner.

After all, that thought of a tasty cup hot chocolate was definitely enticing enough to encourage them to finish their meals. Momma gets a new toy and the kids eat dinner with no headaches, it’s a win-win!

Once the filter had been cleaned and was ready to go, it was simply a matter of filling up the water reservoir and turning on the Keurig. From there, it was a piece of cake. There are a plethora of K-Cup (over 250!) drinks and flavors that you can choose from and, once you decide on one, it’s as easy as popping it into the machine and pressing a button. Keurig sent along a great little sampling of K-Cups for us to try and they’ve certainly been a great hit all around.

Keurig K-Cups

From the wonderful coffee options to the great (hot or cold) teas and, of course, the ever so popular hot chocolate, it has been wonderful having our new Keurig K65 Special Edition on hand for all of those craving a good cup-of-something moments. Having this particular brewer is perfect because, not only does it provide you with an outstanding beverage time and time again but it saves you the trouble of having to prepare and waste an entire pot of coffee. I mean, let’s face it, not everyone likes the same thing. Some people prefer teas, others cocoas and ciders, and then there’s the coffee. But, once you get there, then you’re running into the dark roast, light roast, flavored options, and more. I’ve previously worked in a coffee shop so folks are always assuming that I enjoy making coffee but – news alert! – I do not. Just because I can, doesn’t mean that I want to. And that, well, that is one of the reasons that I love our Keurig. It takes all of the work out of making drinks. There is no need to flavor anything, scoop any coffee grinds, count any tea leaves, measure out any cocoa; it is just simple.

One Keurig, one K-Cup, one button, one drink – perfect every single time.

Keurig K65 Special Edition

My favorite feature of the Keurig K65 Special Edition has got to be its programmable temperature setting. Since we primarily use ours for family drinks such as hot chocolate, ciders, and iced teas, it was nice to be able to set the brew temperature a bit lower to accommodate for children’s and over-ice beverages. And, speaking of the little ones, if you ask them, the Keurig hot chocolate (topped with some mini marshmallows of course) has become their new favorite drink!

We absolutely love our Keurig and I am so thrilled that I had the opportunity to try it out. It has made a wonderful addition to our new home and has been a great bonus feature when entertaining. Whether you’re a cup-a-day kind of person, enjoy a nice, warm beverage every once in a while, or have company often for whom you’d like to have a great brewer on hand, the Keurig K65 Special Edition is a great option for all.
