This may seem like a no brainer to some of you, however there just HAVE to be other like me who are struggling with this. As bloggers, we often have to report our social media posts to various PR Reps and others. There was a time when this was easy to do, but this is no longer so. I finally did find a way to do this and wanted to share with you how to get the link to a Facebook post, and hopefully by sharing this, it will save you the time and frustration that I experienced.
The old way of getting the link was after posting, I would simply right click on the little time stamp that was usually in the upper right hand corner of my post and then I was able to grab the url of the post. One day when I went to do this, I realized that the option was no longer there. I freaked out slightly and drove myself crazy trying to figure it out.
There may be an easier way to get the link to a Facebook post, and if there is, please feel free to share in the comments, this method is what works for me, and I’ll happily use it!
Here is how you do it
1st Step:
Click the three dots at the top right corner of your post “box”.
2nd Step:
Scroll down until you reach “embed” and click that.
3rd Step:
Click advanced settings, then under “Code Generator” you will see the url to your post. Highlight that and copy.
There you have it – now you know how to get the link to a Facebook post!
You could also grab the url from the 2nd step (where the embed code is), but to be safe and make sure I have the complete url, I like to just get it from the 3rd step.
