2025 Summer Activities & Gift Ideas for Kids

From creative play to science fun, these 2025 summer activities will keep your little ones learning and laughing all summer long!

2025 Summer break is here and if you’re like me, you’re looking for ways to keep your kids engaged, creative, and off screens (at least for a little while). Thankfully, we’ve had the chance to try some awesome new toys and activities that make summer at home feel like an adventure!

Here are a few favorites we’ve tested and loved — and that your kids just might fall in love with too.

1. Rocket Astronaut Galaxy Projector + Nightstand

We just got our hands on this out-of-this-world combo and WOW — it turned bedtime into a cosmic adventure.
This galaxy projector fills the room with dreamy stars and swirling colors, and the rocket design is perfect for any little space explorer.
Pair it with a matching nightstand for a magical, sci-fi themed bedroom glow-up.

Perfect for winding down after a busy day of 2025 summer activities and fun.

2. Poppin Colorz 2-in-1 Bubble & Water Blaster

Is it a water blaster? Is it a bubble machine? It’s BOTH!
This colorful water and bubble toy blasts vibrant bubbles and then switches to a cool water spray with just one twist.
Our kids had the BEST time running around the backyard, soaking each other and chasing rainbow-colored bubbles.

☀️ This is a summer backyard essential.

3. Floor Puzzles

We love puzzles and floor puzzles are the perfect thing to do when the weather is too hot to play outside, but it also keeps my son off the devices.

Put on some music, break out the snacks and enjoy a variety of floor puzzles for kids this summer.

4. National Geographic Mega Volcano Set and Science Set

Let’s face it — kids LOVE explosions (in the safest way possible).
This set is a hands-on science experience that lets kids build, paint, and erupt their very own volcano.
This National Geographic Volcano Set is educational, messy (but contained!), and absolutely thrilling.

4. DIY Bracelet Making Kit for Girls

If you’re looking for a chill crafting activity that keeps hands busy and creativity flowing, bracelet-making kits are a win.
It includes beads, charms, and cords to make dozens of one-of-a-kind pieces. Great for birthday gifts, craft days, or even little entrepreneurs who want to start a mini summer “jewelry biz” with friends.

Crafting is always in style — and this one encourages focus and fine motor skills.

5. Playper Curious Kingdom Playset

This eco-friendly playset blew us away. Made with sturdy paperboard and zero plastic, it’s like cardboard-meets-storybook.
Kids get to build the kingdom, act out stories, and explore the world of the Curious Creatures — all while developing imagination and narrative thinking.

  1. What a great collection of ideas! The family I work for as a live-in nanny asked me what their little boy might like most for his upcoming birthday. After reading this article, I think the Rocket Astronaut Galaxy Projector + Nightstand would be perfect. He always says he wants to be an astronaut! Haha, I’m so excited to see his happy face when he gets it. The floor puzzle also looks like a great option. I might get that one from me, too.
