It’s hard to make your dreams come true when you’re always battling with low energy levels. Alas, in this day and age, there are plenty of things out there that’ll zap your energy and make you feel sluggish.

So, what can you do about it? Well, there’s plenty, actually. Just because you’re feeling drained and tired at the moment, it’s more than possible to transform your energy levels in a matter of a couple of weeks — and what’s more, you don’t need to do anything overly radical. A few simple adjustments will get your engines going.

Improve Your Sleep

You can’t expect to be full of energy all day long if you haven’t got a good night’s sleep under your belt. While some people effortlessly sleep through the night, for others, it can take a little bit of work. If you’re finding that you’re struggling to get 6 – 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep through the night, then look at making some changes to your pre-sleep routine and sleeping environment.

Spending an hour before hitting the hay unwinding (that means, meditating, reading, no screen time) and having a quiet, dark, uncluttered bedroom should do the trick.

Have an Energy-Boosting Breakfast

Some people rush out the door in the morning and simply grab a donut on their way to work, and then wonder why they have no energy by mid-morning. A good breakfast will set you up for the day, and for that reason should be considered the most important meal of the day. There are plenty of energy-boosting breakfast meals you can make in fifteen minutes. Combine that with a cup or two of delicious coffee that you genuinely want to drink, such as blueberry crumble K-Cups, and you’ll have the right balance of energy and alertness to see you through to lunchtime and beyond. Remember: having energy-boosting food and caffeine in your system makes it much easier to achieve your goals!

Start Exercising

It can be difficult to imagine exercising when you don’t have much energy, but the truth is that working up a sweat doesn’t drain your energy levels even further: it helps to produce energy. Spending thirty minutes exercising can wake up the body and mind, and it’ll also make it easier to fall asleep once nighttime arrives too. You don’t need to go overboard with your exercise regime — a simple thirty-minute jog is all that’s needed to give your body a jolt of energy. Round it off with a cold shower and you’ll be ready for anything.

Give Up The Energy-Zappers

As we’ve seen in this list, there are plenty of things you can do to increase your energy levels — but there are also plenty of things that’ll drain your energy, too. Get rid of them, and you’ll notice a difference. Some examples include drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, eating fast food, and napping during the day. Remove all of those things from your life, and within a couple of weeks, you’ll notice that you have energy to burn.
