5 Luxury Celebrity Home Styles You Can Recreate

Who wouldn’t want their home to look like a celebrity’s? While you may not have a professional interior designer at your beck and call, it’s surprisingly simple to replicate some of the most famous home styles out there.

1. Light Interiors

You may not be able to add more windows to your home, but if you want to light it up like Jennifer Aniston’s house, paint can do the trick. Avoid going with a stark white, though. Most celebrity designers opt for something gentler, like a very pale gray or cream color.

2. Lots of Seating

Sitting areas are important to a celebrity, thanks to the fact they have a lot of entertaining to do. Even the more “hermit-like” famous folks tend to invest heavily in their living rooms. That means adding plenty of seats, often in the form of extra long sofas or sectionals that can be adjusted to fit the space. Even if your living room is modest in comparison, extra seating will always make it feel more welcome.

No room for a large sofa? Stick to smaller ones or even armchairs, but make sure you have some oversized cushions. These can be tucked behind other furniture most of the time and when you need more seating, toss the cushions on the floor. They look cool and give you that extra space.

3. Mismatched Furniture

Have you ever noticed that most rich people don’t seem to have sets of furniture? That’s because the top end interior designers look for pieces that work well together without being made for each other. It’s a unique, eclectic look that can really work when you know what you’re doing.

The trick to making this work is to choose a theme and work around it. For example, you might want leather to be your theme and choose a suede sofa, a leather armchair, and a leather ottoman. They can all be different styles, but the leather pulls them together. Alternatively, you can opt for a color theme, or a specific era that all the furniture comes from.

Using different styles of wooden chairs around a dining table is a good option. You can also pick a range of eclectic furniture for the sitting room or even your bedroom.

4. Oversized Light Fixtures

Nothing says you’ve made it in Hollywood like a giant light fixture hanging over the coffee table. These are usually very easy to find and while they may cost more than a bare lightbulb, the amount of style they bring to a room is impressive. Just make sure you look for a style that suits your living space and then super-size it.

There’s nothing saying the light fixture needs to be a chandelier, either. In fact, some of the best lights are just simple hanging lights, on a larger scale.

5. Wide Open Vistas

Make the most of the windows you have by keeping them open and clutter free. Many celebrities skip the curtains in order to have unobstructed views of the outdoors. While you may not have the same kinds of views, it definitely helps make your home look larger and the windows bigger if you don’t have curtains. Some celebrities have automatic window tinting or electric blinds, but you don’t have to go that route just to enjoy the same freedoms.

Of course, sometimes, you’ll want to have a little more privacy, but that’s easy enough, too. Just install some fabric blinds that can easily be pulled down. When they’re up, the blinds are unobtrusive and don’t affect the scenery at all. However, when you pull them down, they provide you your own “cocoon” from the outside world.

You don’t have to be a millionaire, famous, or even hire the top interior designers to get the celebrity home style you want. With a little creativity, you can recreate any look in your own space.
