$50 Fandango Gift Card Giveaway – Big Miracle release

A few days ago I told you a bit about the upcoming release of the movie, Big Miracle and the contest for teens in conjunction with this movie (Teen Impact).  I wanted to share a trailer for the movie (which opens February 3rd), and also give you the chance to win a Fandango gift card so you and the family can have a movie night!

Inspired by the true story that captured the hearts of people across the world, the rescue adventure Big Miracle tells the amazing tale of a small town news reporter (John Krasinski) and an animal-loving volunteer (Drew Barrymore) who are joined by rival world superpowers to save a family of majestic gray whales trapped by rapidly forming ice in the Arctic Circle.

Local newsman Adam Carlson (Krasinski) can’t wait to escape the northern tip of Alaska for a bigger market. But just when the story of his career breaks, the world comes chasing it, too. With an oil tycoon, heads of state and hungry journalists descending upon the frigid outpost, the one who worries Adam the most is Rachel Kramer (Barrymore). Not only is she an outspoken environmentalist, she’s also his ex-girlfriend.

With time running out, Rachel and Adam must rally an unlikely coalition of Inuit natives, oil companies and Russian and American military to set aside their differences and free the whales. As the world’s attention turns to the top of the globe, saving these endangered animals becomes a shared cause for nations entrenched against one another and leads to a momentary thaw in the Cold War.

  18. My daughter is OBSESSED with anything about whales and has been waiting to see this movie since she heard they were making it. We were at Dolphin tale the DAY it opened and she will expect nothing less of this film, but it’s definitly not in our budget!

  676. This is a really cool giveaway! My kids haven’t gone to a movie since June so it would be cool to enjoy a family movie with them!

  682. I like Drew Barymore a lot, and this would be a great movie for my kids to see. We have a membership to the Monterey Bay aquarium in Ca and my kids love animals. My husband and 2 littlest kids are even vegan and my husband is really good at teaching them to care about and preserve animals, so this movie would be a great family movie for us or any family.

I have also been reading about the early explorers of the Arctic and Antarctic (diaries, autobiographies, and biographies) am in the process of watching most of the original footage that is available from those expeditions. It’s all so fascinating and poignant.
