From the time I was a little girl, until now (in my adult years), I have enjoyed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping – both as a topping and as a main ingredient in numerous desserts. My mom was an excellent baker, and I often was her helper when I was a child. My daughter and I carried on the tradition (even now, and my daughter is almost 16-years old!). COOL WHIP just brings back so many fond memories for me.
There are so many things to love about COOL WHIP, including its versatility. In addition to the creamy, slightly sweet flavor, it is easy to keep on hand, in the freezer, for those times when your dessert just needs that little something extra. COOL WHIP can be used in so many recipes! I have made everything from freezer pies to an Angel Food Cake roll (with Cool Whip flavored with a little lemon juice!), and everything in between.
My daughter and I have been on a baking kick lately and we recently made cherry and apple pies. We sent the pies with my husband, to share with his co-workers (they love our home-baked goodies!). We made the pies without a crust topping, so to brighten them up, and add extra flavor, we placed a large dollop of COOL WHIP on each pie. It made all the difference in the world in the way the pies looked and tasted. We received rave reviews of course, and I can’t help but think it was partly because pie and COOL WHIP just go together.
COOL WHIP can make an ordinary dessert extraordinary. Case in point: I recently made chocolate tapioca pudding. It was really tasty and all, but it just looked plain – even when it was dished into cute little ice cream glasses. I remembered that I had COOL WHIP in the freezer, so I simply added a dollop of COOL WHIP to each dessert, sprinkled lightly with chocolate shavings, and voila – my dessert looked amazing! This is just one example of COOL WHIP coming to my rescue.

Mmmm I don’t remember a chocolate version somehow, but that sounds good!
One of my favorites is a trifle with a whipped topping – cream cheese frosting combo. Strawberries and pound cake would be great to layer for summer 🙂
