We have waited 18 years for this big day, and it finally arrived. Our baby girl graduated from high school! We are so very proud of her and all that she has accomplished, and we beamed with pride as she walked across the stage and accepted her diploma. Of course, no graduation would be complete without a party, right?
We decided to have a graduation party for her the weekend after the official ceremony, and with the help from Oriental Trading, it turned out fantastic! They were kind enough to send us several items for review and to use during her party.
If you aren’t familiar with Oriental Trading, you certainly are missing out! I have loved them for years. When my daughter was little, I used to order craft items from them, and we would sit for hours, being creative together. Over the years, I have purchased supplies (inexpensively, I might add!) for our various parties. We had a huge 50th wedding anniversary for my parents about 12 years ago, and shopping at Oriental Trading was just so much fun. We found many unique and fun products and came up with some really awesome ideas to make the party absolutely perfect.
But back to my daughter’s graduation party! I let her choose which items she would like, and she poured through their catalog and decided on plates, napkins, poppers, tablecloth, two banners, and a box to put cards in.
As people filed in, they all commented on how cute the decorations were and they loved the idea of the card box. In addition to the greeting cards she received, we had also ordered “advice cards” from another place…so everyone also deposited those in there as well. It was fun to take the box home and go through all of her goodies!
Our table was perfect – filled with colorful decor and tasty food.
Of course the kids loved the poppers. One was “detonated” inside the house and fun, colorful confetti floated to the floor. I encouraged them to go out back to finish the rest of them. They did have a really good time.
Everything came together beautifully and a good time was had by all. I was pleased with how many items we got, with the amount we were allowed to spend.
