I love reading. It is one of my favorite things to do anytime, anywhere. And of course, I want to pass my love of reading and books onto my daughters.
I was so excited to try the
Sparkup Magical Book Reader. This is an amazing product that allows parents to record themselves reading their children’s favorite illustrated books. The children can then listen and “read” along with the story, even if their parents are not there!
The Sparkup Magical Book Reader is super easy to use. All you do is attach it to the back cover of a book, close the book, and press the “on” button. Then just follow the audio instructions to record a book, starting with the title.
When you record the story itself, you can either record each page individually (with the opportunity to listen to the recording and redo it if needed), or you can do one continuous recording.
Once a book has been recorded, all your child has to do is attach the reader to the back cover of the book and turn it on. The reader has a built-in camera that takes an image of each page while recording, so it always plays the correct recording for the open page (which is great since my daughters tend to flip through books). And best of all, it is your voice that your child hears reading! I am excited to take the Sparkup Magical Book Reader along on long car trips, and I am sure that my oldest daughter will love to lay in bed and read along with her favorite stories.
The Sparkup Magical Book Reader works best on hardcover illustrated books, since they are easier to keep open during recording. You should record in a room with plenty of light so the reader’s camera can take clear images of the pages. And it is best to do the recordings when there is no background noise (easier said than done with kids in the house). You can store up to 50 recordings on the reader at once, and it comes with a computer cable so you can upload and store some of your recordings on the computer.
