Well he is the puppy, and I am the one in love. I have never, ever had a dog, but I do love them. Last weekend I went to visit my friend (who lives about 3 hours away) for a few days, and the night I arrived, she had just picked up their new puppy – an 8-week old German Shepherd.
Puppies are quite a bit of work! The first night he cried a lot, while adjusting to his new surroundings, but the next day his personality really showed. I found myself falling in love with this little guy (his name is Niko), and I had so much fun with him.
We jumped and played with a ball (correction – he did the jumping part):
Look at the size of these paws – he’s going to be a big fella!
After all of the playing, he was all tuckered out. He was a very sleepy boy:
He is a lucky boy – his new family loves him very much, and he already rules the roost and has them wrapped around their little fingers
My last night there, I was pretty sad. I hated to leave this little guy (even though he will get PLENTY of love from his owners!). I sat in the rocking recliner and held him like a baby. I cradled him in my arms and rocked him. He loved it! It was so cute – every time I would talk to him, he would talk right back.
They sent me this picture after I had left – they took him on a walk. Isn’t he the cutest?
Yes, they call it puppy love. Til next time my furry little friend…

I am a stay-at-home mom of two (4 and 18 months) and I am not as excited to have a new puppy. We have had Ripley, a beagle pup, since the beginning of December and I am still trying to warm up to him. I am sure at some point he will be fun to have around but right now, with the two little ones, he is just one more little one to keep track of.
It is like having a newborn, 1-year old, and 2-year old all wrapped in one lol.
Just a quickie as my friend recently got a beagle – they are not like other dogs since they are hounds. That’s a HUGE difference in training and personality. You might want to research their breed specifically 🙂
Adorable! I’ve been thinking about getting a puppy…
They are so cute, but quite a bit of work! I’ve never had one before, and had no idea. I think it’s worth it though, for the love they give, and the smiles they bring 🙂
We have two dogs and when we got our little guy a bit over a year ago, a tiny Yorkie, we didn’t sleep for nights. It WAS like having a newborn, but instead of changing diapers you have to go out…in the COLD and rain to let them out. Hold them. Talk to them. Have someone “babysit” them when you leave.( I slept on the couch with him for a few months as he trembled and was so scared for a long time). Then you have to worry about injury or illness just like a child. Yes, they really ARE people too! Now he’s a six pound little stinker who runs our undies through the house like a captured flag, thinks he’s a Great Dane and looks like a miniature lion when he shakes out his hair like Fabio, and has put our other 24 lb Schnauzer in check as his Master to go get his toys. We’ve created a MONSTER, but we do love our dogs so much! You should totally get one !!
LOL he sounds adorable! Silly guy – hauling underwear around like that!
So uh……so you think they would mind if I come and steal that little guy!? Hehe!
I do believe he just stole my heart xD
LOL he has completely stolen mine! Yeah, they might mind unfortunately 🙁
We absolutely love our little girl that is now 1-year-old. She was/is a lot of work but is worth it. Will we get another if something happens to her? Probably not because she can’t be so easily replaced.
So adorable! I’m afraid of dogs (I know, pathetic!), but I kind of wanted a small one for a while. But there would be 4 very unhappy cats in our household if that happened. 🙂
