Ballet Cat

Disclosure Giveaway
Disney-Hyperion sent me books, and is also providing a prize pack for one winner from my site
Oh how my daughter would have loved the Ballet Cat series of books! She was (and still is) an avid reader, and I like to think that part of the reason is that we read together daily from the time she was a baby. When she was really young, we would mostly look at the pictures and point to different objects while speaking the words. As she got older she would do the reading to me. Her book collection was HUGE!

Not only would she have loved these books because she liked to read, but we are total “cat people”. Ballet Cat is awfully cute and I know she would have quickly become one of our favorite characters.

About the Ballet Cat books:

The Totally Secret Secret

ballet cat the totally secret secret

Ballet Cat and Sparkles the Pony are trying to decide what to play today. Nothing that Sparkles suggests–making crafts, playing checkers, and selling lemonade–goes well with the leaping, spinning, and twirling that Ballet Cat likes to do. When Sparkles’s leaps, spins, and twirls seem halfhearted, Ballet Cat asks him what’s wrong. Sparkles doesn’t want to say. He has a secret that Ballet Cat won’t want to hear. What Sparkles doesn’t know is that Ballet Cat has a secret of her own, a totally secret secret. Once their secrets are shared, will their friendship end, or be stronger than ever?

Dance! Dance! Underpants!

Ballet Cat is getting her friend Butter Bear ready for her big ballet debut. “Leap, Butter Bear, leap!” Ballet Cat prompts. But Butter Bear would prefer to just point her toe. When Ballet Cat keeps pushing, Butter Bear gets hungry, then thirsty, then sleepy . . . The bottom line is that Butter Bear would rather do almost anything to avoid making a big leap. Why? Because her bottom is covered in silly underpants! This second entry in the Ballet Cat series will have beginning readers rolling on the floor with laughter.

  1. I would love to read these to y granddaughter but her daddy is military and they live across the country from me so I would send them to her for them to read to her. I would however, read them to her when I go out to visit.

  2. I would give these books to 2 special sisters I adore: Chloe, age 4 & Ryan, age 2 🙂
They are my friend Mae’s great-granddaughters.

  3. I teach music and would love to read these books to my students. Especially on a day we were learning about The Nutcracker or Tchaikovsky!

  4. I would love to win these for my 4 year old! She had her first ballet recital last month so I know she would be SO excited to win these!

  5. My almost-2-year-old would love these books! Dancing is her favorite, & one of her first words was kitty cat, so I’m sure she would greatly enjoy reading this. It would look great on her new bookshelf with her collection.

  6. While it’s important for children to learn the value of reading, what’s most crucial is showing them it can be fun when using their imagination! The main reason I’d want to win is this for a particular princess that has a disability but is always a princess to me!

  7. I would love to read these to my grandchildren! I read to them whenever they are over and this would add to our collection.
