Great American Bake Sale raises money to fight childhood hunger across the U.S. by encouraging individuals, families, organizations and schools to hold bake sales and donate the profits to help Share our Strength provide millions of meals and snacks to America’s children.

Some other alarming facts: Lack of enough nutritious food impairs a child’s ability to concentrate and perform well in school, they are more likely to experience headaches, stomachaches, colds, ear infections and fatigue. Children who struggle with hunger are also sick more often, recover more slowly, and are more likely to be hospitalized.
$25 Can help feed one child three healthy meals every day for a month.
$50 Can help connect one child with healthy meals throughout the summer.
$100 Can help provide 25 children facing hunger with backpacks full of healthy food to feed them and their families over the weekend.
$200 Can help buy grocery bags of healthy foods for 50 families in need.
$500 Can help reach twelve low-income families with a life-changing, six-week nutritious cooking and food budgeting course.
WHERE TO BEGIN? The C and H website has some wonderful ideas about hosting your own bake sale to help fight childhood hunger. On their site you will find recipes (these recipes look amazing, by the way!), bake sale tips, sign and tags, price suggestions, locations and more!

No I have never. This is the first i have ever heard of one.
I have not participated but I love to bake! I enjoy sitting at the table and doing cupcakes or cakes, bars, cookies, etc. I'm not in great health, so would surely do it if I had some help selling! (er…and clean up ;)!)
