CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS AND THE SENSATIONAL SAGA OF SIR STINKS-A-LOT by Dav Pilkey

Available Now!!!

One of my favorite things to do is read to my girls.  I love books and I hope to instill the love of reading in them, as well as the importance of reading.  Even though they cannot read yet, they love to sit in my lap and listen to stories, and books that are both funny and have a lot of illustrations are always entertaining to them!

Luckily, the twelfth and newest Captain Underpants story by Dav Pilkey is available now from Scholastic – Captain Underpants and the Sensational Saga of Sir Stinks-a-Lot!

If you are not familiar with the Captain Underpants series, here is a quick synopsis:

Best friends George Beard and Harold Hutchins are the unofficial class clowns of fourth grade.  There’s nothing they love more than making comic books about a silly superhero named Captain Underpants.  But now they’ve accidentally transformed their mean school principal, Mr. Krupp, into Captain Underpants himself!  Join George, Harold, and the Waistband Warrior as they fight for Truth, Justice, and all that is Pre-Shrunk and Cottony – and save the world, too!

In Captain Underpants and the Sensational Saga of Sir Stinks-a-Lot, George and Harold have a lot more to deal with!

There’s something rotten in the state of Ohio, and it’s smellier than a pile of putrid gym socks!  Steer clear–it’s Sir Stinks-A-Lot!

George, Harold, and their doubles, Yesterday George and Yesterday Harold, have a good thing going.  Two of them go to school, while the other two hide in the tree house and play video games all day–then they switch!  But when their malicious teacher, Mr. Meaner, creates a method of mind control that turns their fellow students into attentive, obedient, perfect children, the future of all humanity will be in their hands!

What a fun and entertaining story for my daughters!  They giggled throughout the book, loved the pictures, and really got a kick out of all of the characters’ antics!  Best of all, they loved the superhero, Captain Underpants.  What a great way to promote reading, the benefits of reading, and the idea that “Reading Gives You Superpowers”!

Be sure to check out the many adventures of George, Harold, and Captain Underpants available from Scholastic and Dav Pilkey, including epic novels, games, videos, and more!  Whether you have read any of these novels before or you are new to the world of Captain Underpants, they are sure to entertain your children with their fun stories and characters, as well as give them all the benefits of reading.

  1. He is learning through reading and he always thinks he is a super hero so not sure of what he may think after he is.

  2. My daughter gets the power of time travel when she reads. She can go back and forth in time using her imagination!

  3. My son is autistic…and hyperlexic. He taught himself to read at the age of 2, and read sentences before he spoke them. Reading truly did give him the gift of language. Reading helped him to learn to speak!

  4. There are many that are mentioned daily to which leads to the power of ‘imagination’! Though some powers, however, each have led back to that of ‘inspirational hopes’ which will help our family to be able to be out of debt, help other’s and get back items we had to sell (laptop, computer desk, software etc.) – to pay bills!

  6. My grandson’s superpower is the ability to express his thoughts! He gets this from having grown up around books and enjoying them everyday!

  7. My kids get the super power of knowing how to find the answers to any questions that they may have. Personally, I think thats the most amazing thing in the world! Thanks for the opportunity!

  11. The super power my kids get from reading is a super imagination for active play! They have a thirst for fun, and reading helps them explore places they have never been!

  12. I have no kids at home anymore but it seems to me that just being able to read in itself is a super power. Kids don’t want to read anymore…sadly too many kids are being promoted from grade to grade without being able to read and that sets them up for failure as adults.

  13. no super powers, just an enjoyment from reading and an awareness that imagination can be a wonderful thing…

  14. The superpower the kid gets from reading? The ability to go anywhere, travel thru time and space! To go back in time, to sail the oceans or deepest space….

  15. Since my oldest child is 2 years old, she get the idea that some books can be touched – such as the THATS NOT MY __________ books.

  16. Thank You for the giveaway…when our kids read they can transport themselves to another place geographically, or to another time in history !
