Keep Your Lips Moisturized and Smooth this Winter with ChapStick

As I am sitting here writing this post, I am looking out the window at the overcast skies, blowing branches, and leftover snow from a big storm we suffered earlier this week.  I have not been outside yet today, but I can just imagine how it will feel when I do go out – cold and bitter.  I know that I can bundle up and protect my arms, legs, hands, feet, and ears, but my face, and especially my lips, will still be exposed to the cold.  I cannot think of anything worse than dry, chapped, or cracked lips.

For that reason, I am and have always been a huge fan of ChapStick® products.  If you ask me what one beauty product I would not be able to live without, it would definitely be ChapStick®.  I put it on several times a day, starting from when I wake up in the morning and for the last time right before I get into bed, whenever I feel my lips need it and whether it is cold out or not.  I also have a bad habit of biting or licking my lips whenever I am concentrating hard on work, which dries them out.  Using ChapStick® both helps to keep them moisturized and prevents me from further biting and licking.

Each variety of ChapStick® is made with different formulas and offers different benefits for your lips.  The ChapStick® Classic Range is the one that we all know and love for everyday wear.  My dad used to carry around a tube of Original ChapStick® and share it with us kids, and I love to use that kind when I am feeling nostalgic.  The Cherry and Strawberry flavors smell great and you cannot go wrong with the fresh Spearmint flavor.

The ChapStick® Moisturizer line include several additional ingredients, such as aloe, vitamins, and an SPF 12 sunscreen, to provide extra hydration.  The flavors are so fun (the Vanilla Mint is definitely my favorite!), and I love getting a little bit taste when rubbing my lips together.  My daughter’s upper lip has been pretty dry this winter and we noticed she kept picking at it.  However, a little ChapStick® Moisturizer has really helped her out and there is no more picking!

For delicious flavor, the ChapStick® Tropical Paradise Collection is the way to go.  Both flavors remind me of laying out on a beach, feeling a soft breeze blowing through my hair, and enjoying a fruity tropical drink.  Mango Sunrise is available at mass retailers and drug stores nationwide, but Aloha Coconut is only available at Wal-Mart Stores!

Finally, ChapStick® Sun Defense and ChapStick® Medicated are specially-formulated for when you need something extra.  ChapStick® Sun Defense has SPF 25, which is so important when you are spending time out in the sun.  And sometimes it seems like my lips are so dry and chapped, nothing will help.  However, ChapStick® Medicated helps to both heal them and keep them hydrated.

  162. I like the Cherry ChapStick. I also buy the Blue label moisturizing one for my husband and sons; they don’t like the red tint the cherry chapstick gives your lips.
