Cheerios Send Cheer to a Military Family #CBias

Although I am not from a military family, plenty of my relatives have served in the military. My nephew is in the Navy, and is currently serving. To say I worry about him constantly is an understatement. I not only worry about his safety, but about his mental well-being. He is young and it is hard to be away from home. I see his posts on Facebook and many times he seems lonely.

I try to keep positive for him, and leave encouraging messages for him, but I want to do more. In the past I have donated items for the Blue Star Moms to use in the care packages they send to our troops, and I will be doing it again shortly.

Cheerios has created a program that I am so excited about. So many people mean well, as far as sending thoughts and prayers to the troops, but sometimes in the course of our busy lives, they may not actually physically send anything to our men and women in the military. Cheerios sendCheer program makes it easy for everyone to brighten the day of our soldiers and their families!

I will be sharing more info with you in my next post, on how this program works – it is really easy! Be on the lookout for specially marked boxes of Cheerios at your store. These boxes will have a postcard that you simply cut out and mail to a military family. They are already addressed and everything!

To celebrate this amazing program, there will be a #sendCheer Twitter party tonight (Thursday, November 10th at 9pm EST). Use the hashtag #sendcheer and follow #CBias and @GeneralMills & @Walmart as well. You can RSVP for the Twitter party right here.

I hope you will be a part of the Cheerios sendCheer Campaign with me – together we can make a difference!

  1. Cute idea, as far as marketing the name CHEER ios. I love that companies do this type of thing. We just had a discussion the other night about companies jumping on the bandwagon with certain charities and some seem to be hype to get attention, of course so they get more consumers. When we thought if companies are gonna donate, they should just do it and not expect more business out of it. I think this is a great idea. Simple. Meaningful. Something everyone can do. And pretty much everyone buys cereal already right?
