Family Fun – Disney Channel Teen Beach Movie! #TeenBeachMovie

I am of the generation of beach movies (well almost – they were just a little before my time), specifically those with Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello. Ahhh those were the good ol’days when teens everywhere dreamed about spending their summers at the beach, frolicking in the water, with a fun group of friends.

Naturally I was happy to learn about the Disney Channel’s Teen Beach Movie which premieres on July 19th! I always love movies that the whole family can watch and enjoy together, and this is just that type of movie. You might even find yourself singing and dancing along, since this movie is full of beach fun and music (and humor!).

I LOVE Family Movie Night! I love these nights so much, in fact, that my family and I had our own movie night recently. It was a blast – we actually watched The Addams Family (this was my daughter’s choice – not beach themed, but a fun movie night nonetheless!).

We enjoyed our popcorn in the cute popcorn cups that were sent to us and we also were throwing the beach ball around to each other during the movie. It was lots of fun!

Our good friend (pictured below left) and my father-in-law (bottom right) joined us for family movie night too.  The more, the merrier, right? They had fun with the masks I received, and we laughed at the styles of the old days.

“Teen Beach Movie” follows teen surfing sweethearts Brady and McKenzie who together ride the last wave of summer, one that mysteriously takes them into a classic beach party movie, “Wet Side Story.” There, it’s surfers versus bikers for control of the beach hangout…and everyone spontaneously breaks into song and dance. Now, Brady and McKenzie must try to return to present day, but their lives may be changed forever when they inadvertently alter the movie’s romantic storyline when handsome surfer Tanner falls for McKenzie and biker girl Lela starts swooning for Brady.

I really love the message of this movie. It is so important for kids, tweens and teens to believe in themselves and follow their dreams. Teen Beach Movie is geared for kids through age 14, and their families. This is also a great starting point for conversation between kids and their parents, as the movie encourages positive themes like friendship, empowerment and much more.
