Disney’s Old Dogs DVD Review

I love a good family comedy.  They seem hard to come by these days – all of the movies either seem to appeal to adult audiences, or are too “kiddy” for adults to enjoy. I think “Old Dogs” is the perfect mix to keep the whole family entertained. My daughter is 13 years old and she watched it with my husband and I.  We all enjoyed it thoroughly!  There were a few parts that were a little silly, and mostly appealed to my daughter, but the movie as a whole was pretty entertaining!

Dan (Robin Williams) and his best friend and business partner Charlie (John Travolta) are on the verge of the biggest deal in the history of their sports marketing firm when their lives are turned upside down by a surprise visit from Dan’s ex-wife Vicki (Kelly Vicki has big news for Dan—their ever-so-brief liaison produced twins Zach (Conner Rayburn) and Emily (Ella Bleu Travolta), now seven-years-and in need of a dad to keep an eye on them for two weeks. With only high-living playboy Charlie for support, Dan’s bumbling attempts at “on the job training” in fatherhood result in a series of disastrously funny exploits that lead him to a new understanding of what really matters in life. Featuring an extraordinary cast of comedy purebreds including Seth Green, Matt Dillon and Lori Loughlin, Old Dogs will have audiences rolling over and begging for more.

The cast in “Old Dogs” is excellent.  In the movie, was the whole Travolta family – his wife and daughter, Ella. It was really fun to see her! Robin Williams is always a blast to watch, and I loved the chemistry between he and Travolta.  Matt Dillon, Seth Green and Lori Loughlin complete the cast.

If you are looking for a simple movie that the whole family will enjoy, I think “Old dogs” will do the trick (no pun intended!).  It is available in stores now, and there are some great bonus featured included on the DVD. It is available in Blu-Ray as well!

  1. I still need to see it! Ooh Mat's home this weekend, maybe we'll finally be able to have a movie night 🙂 I'll be sure to hint at this movie.

  2. I love RObin Williams….I still cannot get over Mrs. Doubtfire…he is hysterical. Glad to know it is a good watch!
